Isn't there supposed to be a reservoir for the radiator when it gets hot. If so where does it go ?

I googled some images but the only reservoir I see is for the window wash

My 70 doesn't have a reservoir. It has a hose that discharges strait down the radiator support to the ground

Back in the '70's, it was considered safer to vent the hot fluid to ground than to have a tank.

Back then environmental standards were a little more "lacking".....  And it was assumed that everyone carried a jug of something to refill the radiator.

There are a couple posts on site recommending tanks that fit well in our cars.

I think it was like a 73/74 nova. A lot of us tucked the on the passenger side of the battery inside the fender so you can barely tell that they are there.

I think what has been used is from 75-79 maybe nova from what I've heard.  Joe did it on his he will know. Mine is just a tank that sits out in the open. It works for now.

75-79 Nova. Somewhat concealed under the fender next to the battery. About $40. Many suppliers, but the cap is separate with most.

I have installed it on mine since the new BBC has indicated that it needs it. Before it just went onto the ground with the small block ( never an issue). 75-79 Nova .Like $50 and hides behind the battery.

Many people have gone the Nova route....looks nice. 70's did not have one. Because of track regulations I just used a 24 oz water bottle and painted it black so its not so obvious 🤣

That’s what I have for overflow.  Tucked in the fender alongside the battery.

Mine leaks a few drops evertime I drive it….tried new cap, new gasket…I’ll figure it out eventually but I’m  busy putting miles on it during our short season.

It's for Nova, Buick Skylark, etc, and those are the correct numbers you have listed. The 'OER' site breaks the application list down even further. Most of the usual places stock them, Summit, SS396, Parts Place, Jegs, etc.

I bought a 3rd gen camaro tank for mine, but seeing how the Nova tank is tucked in the inner fender, I'm going to get one of them instead.

I have a 4 core radiator, HD fan clutch, 180 deg. thermostat, 50% antifreeze, factory AC and the correct coolant level.  I never loose any water. Why would I need an overflow tank?

Technically you don’t. The car never came with one.

It's one of those environmental things...... And it keeps your dog from getting sick.

Yea dogs, cars squirrels  and mice love the taste of anti freeze unfortunately it's not good for them. Well at least the dogs and cats the mice and squirrels can have all they want.
