Ok, so I'm still trying to process yesterdays horror 😑. But the world keeps on turning.

I always enjoyed Finnegan on RoadKill. I watch his YouTube channel, and occasionally pick up some knowledge 🤣

He's done a few giveaways, and yes i have entered them and no I haven't won anything 🤣 He did a 57 Chevy Station Wagon Gasser, a 91 Camaro Z28, and now the C10. None of which interested me, well maybe the gasser as it did end up running power tour. But my friends oldest son, pre teen?, has shown an interest on the classics. Unfortunately not Monte's 🤣 He was heavy on the Mopar family but just switched to square bodies.

As many of you car show guys will agree, and drag racers, the classics are owned by a bunch of old guys, yea I'm in that bracket 🤣 So I was thinking what could I do to promote the classics to the younger generation.

So I talked to my friend, and his wife, (I'm not getting in the middle of that🤣) and asked them if I won, would they be upset if it just showed up in their driveway one day. The first response from the wife was, no, as long as it stays in your garage 🤣 We all laughed . So that's what I'm doing. I gave their son a OPGI catalog so he would understand restoration prices.

Yea I know this was a long ramble, oh well 🤣

And Yea, I'm gonna buy a t-shirt for me  🤣

I would love to see the young generation get into the classics. But in their eyes the classics are not 60’s and 70’s they are 2000’s and they aren’t wrong ( 25 years old).

I'll probably invest in a couple of shirts. At least I'm in it to win it! Pretty nice story on the truck.

Very true. Joe Zolper (you may know from garage squad tv show) recently had a post on FB reminding us old folks nobody is going to want our cars in the future. I'm just trying to keep the fire lit if someone shows interest. The good thing about pickups in farming/agriculture areas is they hardly ever go out of style or usable.

And yes I know, the young man may go thorough a couple of mindset changes over the years but its worth a shot. 😁 Heck, I got a Silverado upgrade at the car rental place a few years ago, absolute hated it, and years later bought one and love it. And to beat some of you skallywags with the obvious comment.................my mental acuity sometimes does reflect a teenager 🤣

I'm not sure Joe's right about no one wanting classic cars in the future......

I get approached regularly in parking lots by people in their late 20's and early 30's that ask if I'm interested in selling.

Mind you, and not to seem racist, but they are usually new or first generation Canadians.

Maybe it's because it's shiny, or just something that none of their friends have, but I still see an interest.

Maybe not to the level of club membership, but still an interest. :)

I think that there will always be an interest. Let’s see if they can beat the peer pressure of their “ group” with the more “ modern” cars. I hope they are strong willed enough to do so.

I'm wary of those "how much would you take" questions. Last time I had the Cougar at a show, guy asked me how much I would sell it for.........I said it's not for sale, he said everything has a price, I said 1 million cash....he said it not worth that much and I repeated because it's not for sale.

There were a couple of things I can't disagree on with Joes post. 1, the executores of your estate don't know and don't care what it is, they just want it gone and some money. 2nd, and I'm sure some of us have seen this, the seller has watched Mecum. BJ's and others and thought well my car is worth that much, NO IT ISNT !

And as Dennis said, classics to us isn't the same as classics to the younger generation. Add to that the imports, or as I call them the fast and furious crew, not a dis just what they grew up on
