Scott S. Posted Monday at 06:06 PM Posted Monday at 06:06 PM Saw this photo on one of those history shows the other night.... Thought I'd share. Looks a little rough considering the photo is circa 1975. 6 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted Monday at 06:19 PM Posted Monday at 06:19 PM In 75 they were daily drivers and beaters unfortunately. Back then you could buy a 10 year old car for a few hundred bucks 4 Quote

cny first gen 71 Posted Monday at 07:50 PM Posted Monday at 07:50 PM My brother in law bought a beautiful 68 impala when he came home from service in late 72 or early 73 unfortunately he totaled that then bought a 70 monte that's when I got bite by the bug. I couldn't afford it when he sold it but quite a few years later I got one 😁 5 Quote
Rob Peters Posted Monday at 11:44 PM Posted Monday at 11:44 PM It does look a bit rough. I am surprised as rough as it looks the fender skirts are still on it. rob 4 Quote

I'm not sure what it being in a K-Mart parking low would matter. Some of us like the look of the skirts, it gives the Monte a longer, sleeker look. My point was that in the condition it looks to be in I would have thought the skirts would have been one of the first things to be scrapped/removed. rob Quote

Just noting that large (or any) parking lots are a free for all regarding dents, and home to the much feared "shopping cart" 1 Quote

keith72monte Posted Wednesday at 03:53 AM Posted Wednesday at 03:53 AM This is what happens in a parking lot with a jealous person with a shopping cart ., Must been a cart of bricks or a running start to get to this much dentage lol This is why the 1st owner took the car back from the wife and parked it in his garage for 25 years. So no one could hurt his baby again lol Then he retires and sells it, to another car flipper to sell to me. All because of a jealous person with a shopping cart . Now that big dent in photo looks like someone backed their f150 into that Monte. 2 Quote

keith72monte Posted Wednesday at 06:53 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:53 PM After looking at the spot. or big dent. I was thinking a small drop of water on the camera lens? Wet parking lot. Raining day. Weird reflection on bottom of spot. Trying to be positive. lol Quote
Rob Peters Posted Wednesday at 07:59 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:59 PM I was basing my thoughts that it was a little beat up by the missing hub cap on the front and what looks like the whole side is a little funky. Something else I noticed is the rear end looks to be jacked up pretty high because a car with skirts usually sits lower on the rear wheel. The skirt molding looks to be at the same height as a cars normal rear wheel well trim. With skirts the skirt trim would be at or just below the center of the wheel hub. No matter what, it was a running, driving first gen Monte and I would not have kicked it out of the garage. rob 2 Quote
