I am having troubles figuring out how the battery tray mounts on my 72. The old one I pulled out was laying on a 2x4. The new one matches the old one and I have the support bar that mounts to the fender. I also put new plastic inner fenders on. Now I cannot figure out how the tray mounts. Does anyone have any pictures I could go off of or any input? Any help would be great. Thanks!

The tray uses two or three holes in the radiator support or at least it does on my 70. I also think there is a bolt that comes up though the inner fender into the tray, been a while since I looked at one.

Here is a schematic for how the Battery Tray attaches to a 72 Monte. You can print it and have it with you at the car for orientation.

Hope this helps as I know it can be confusing without a reference.

PS:

Mount the support arm to the fender skirt first and start bolt to tray. Alignment of battery tray to radiator support should be self explanatory and all the rest will fall into place.

Thanks a bunch! I actually have the assembly manual with this page in it. I paged all the way through it last week and must have overlooked this page. I am missing the support bracket (#3 in the picture). Not sure where to get one but I will have to look at year one or OPG or something. Thanks again for taking the time to get that page for me. I appreciate it.

I got my kit from NPD and I think it came with that bracket. I haven't installed it yet. They may sell it seperate.
