Gear ratio

In a 71 monte with a 350 turbofire engine 350 turbo tranny and a 12bolt rear end what is the gear ratio in the rear end?

A 273 rear end was very common for A 350/350 Car.

Look under the Tech Info section. If nothing has been changed it will give you the codes to decipher your ratio. It's also on the build sheet if you're able to find it.

 

Mine is also 2:73.

Unless its a 4 speed or powerglide transmission, or an ss car it would be a 2.73, although it could be ordered as a posi

My 12 bolt also had 2.73 gears.

Mine was originally a 402 th400 with a 2.73 open

Needless to say mine is not a 2.73 open anymore either!

Mine still sports the org. 2.73 gears but with a power trax unit gets about 16mpg with a big block and a 700r4.
