I have a bad vacuum leak at the base of my carb anybody have a pic of the one they have used. Everybody keeps showing me the same one I have at the parts stores.

Depends on what carb you're running.

I think, the carburetor base plate gasket is different depending on what Q-jet you have. I would ensure any replacement base plate gasket matches the one that was on your car originally. I think they may add two types in a rebuild kit one with 3 or 4 holes and one with one big hole, as I remember. Is the original one missing?

Bruce I have the original carb the part number is 7041200. I matched the gasket with what came off of it but the car didnt run good before so maybe it was the wrong one also. I gues I will try to take the carb in and try to match one up.

I found the correct one no more vacuum leak now to replace the leaking transmission pan gasket.

Did you take a picture of it?
