can anyone tell me how the heck the heat stove is attached to the pass. side exhaust manifold.

I just looked at mine (or whats left of it) they appear to be rivets

I to, recall seeing rivets on the right manifold when I removed my small block.

Hey Jason, the boys are right they are Rivets and they are machine pressed on..

Yep, rivets. I bought two extra from thew Chevy dealer 20+ years ago in-case I lost one or two. Just tapped them in with a hammer.

One of the two shield parts, was a slightly different shape, but it's all they had, back then.

oh boy.....can anyone send me a good pic. all the manifolds i have around here have 3 nub like raised areas. 4 sets and none have the stove still on them.... i bet those were the rivets then. any suggestions how to put on new one?

Duct tape just kidding. I took mine off when I changed the carb and air cleaner and havent noticed a problem unless your going for 100% stock look.

I have the tube that goes up to the air cleaner and air cleaner 350 2 barrel if you need it.
