I have finally acuired my first muscle-car.

A 70 monte sold as a parts-car to me last year.

Very little rust, but a heap of work to do still.

This car is going to be a clean-look Monte.. might be a litte too clean for some entusiasts, but it my car wink

Some pictures from when i bought it.

Im a pic-junkie so now youre warned!

She is very solid.. no rustholes yet smile

Kinda weird when she is been in norway since new, and driven in snow and salted roads.

Took off doors, windows, gastank and back-lid.

Ready for lift off.

I was alone when lifting off the body.. kinda heavy, but managed it.

Time to clean out the rest on the body.

The body and panels have first priority so the frame is left alone for a while.

Very Clean looking, Looks like you have a nice Gem there. Amazing that is the only major rust on that.

Posted

Great progress! Usually, the rust is a lot worse than ya think, but you have the opposite situation - I'm sure you're not complaining......

Posted

Im very glad it is so little rust.. for once i can have a nice project without living in the welder-helmet or whatever..

i expected mutch more rust.. pleasant surprise thou

If that was a Michigan Car. It would look like Swish Cheese.

Posted

Why? Is the climate there worse than here in Norway?

Pictures gone... Great.. Damn photobucket..

The road de-icers they use here love metal. We can have some pretty heavy winters. I bought a 1970 Monte parts car this past fall that was built at the Flint,Mi assembly plant. It stayed in Michigan it's whole life. And it was in very bad shape. The Mid West winters here can be pretty brutal. Heck, in Michigan. It cam be 90 degrees one day and child enough snow the next.

Nice work you are doing there. I wish I had a garage that big smile What are you doing with the Trans Am?

Posted

That's is in great condition and your garage is impressive. Welcome to the site, your pics are appreciated. Salt damage is bad in many parts of Canada as well. Mine was much, much worst than yours when it was only 16 years old!

Great job, you are doing it the right way. Start from scratch and make her new. Keep the pictures coming.

what no build sheet? The only other comment I have.. straight out brute Norseman force on the separation.. kicking
