firefighter343 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Any pointers on where to start what to do and not to do? I posted pics before, just now getting it in the garage. Motor runs great, tranny is getting rebuilt now, ac compressor is gone but all the lines are still there. Front bucket seat is shot, looking at about 20-30 hours body work. Frame is good, floor pans are good, inner fender are trashed. Surface rust around rear window, rust thru rear wheel trim area. Any pointers on where to get the best deal on parts is greatly appreciated.. working on a low budget of 150 bucks every 2 weeks
cny first gen 71 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Start taking it apart peice by peice, remember to mark everything. Put parts in ziploc bags and mark them as to where they came from, example rf lf left rear right rear ect. Mark the peices themselfs if you can as to where they go.(on the back side of corse) There is lots of people here to help as you need it and belive you will, dont be afraid to ask and some day you will also be answering someone elses questions. Good luck with your project.

Set a total budget amount and change it several times over the project! Good luck! And enjoy what your doing.

firefighter343 Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 I got lucky and get a steal deal on the car. The motor sounds great, and the body is in pretty decent shape. It started out my father in law wanted 1000 for the car, I paid him 400 on it then he gave me the title to it as a wedding gift, I've got 200 in the tranny rebuild and new brake lines. So I've got 600 bucks in a running, drivable 1972 Monte Carlo with a 400 sbc.. I think I did good lol..
