Holley Carb On SS Monte

Please take a look at the following couple pictures in my photobucket album. I have a couple questions:

 

1. What is the orange coiled up circular item that looks like it is attached to the manifold?

 

2. Is this orange coil a part of the carb or anything else?

 

3. Am I missing a spring, linkage, etc on this holley carb? This is a picture from the passenger side.

 

I'm changing this out to an orignal Rochester Quadrajet but the engine all the sudden doesn't want to keep running, won't idle and I think it's carb issues.

That is the choke stove. It is missing the cover and the linkage for it

Tory thats part of the original choke for the qjet.

Troy i have an Edelbrock coil choke still in the package with the instruction on how its installed and hooked up.

A follow up question...

 

1. Should this choke stove be hooked up to the Holley carb until I switch it out for the QJET?

Troy here is the paper work that I have for the coil I have in the package

I doubt if it can be connected to the holley.

I have 2 coils and 1 cover for them. If anyone wants them. I can send pictures. Just pay shipping.

Friend gave them to me along with the Quad I bought from him.
