monte70car Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 So while putting my new mini starter on this evening I noticed a orange wire that runs down with the starts wires(purple and a tan). On the end of the orange wire is a rubber boot hiding a a plug end. I looked in my manual and I see an orange wire that goes to the blower motor(non a/c car) I don't see any other orange wires going in that direction can I cut that wire as it doesn't look like it does anything on my car, as it was an a/c car? I did check the wire for juice but there is not juice on the wire with the key on and the blower motor switch turned on. Part 2 of this question is my blower motor doesn't work at all. I have power at the inline fuse hold above the location of the big suit case, I have power at the power brake(pinched the wire with a test light). I have the blower motor grounded it to the firewall and to a stud holding the a/c delete box on the fire wall. Blower motor worked before the a/c delete box went on and it kicked on last year when I changed out the heater core. Quote
Mikstudie Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Not sure about the orange wire or what your question is,BUT DONT cut any wires until your sure what it is.Until you know what it is just hide it and dont loose any sleep over it...If you have power to the motor and a GOOD ground (clean the ground bolt of paint) or ground with a test wire to the battery. Use a test light to check not only power but also ground. with test wires, apply 12 volts to motor and a good sure ground to motor to make sure it is a good motor. Quote
