montefrazer Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I did that same 70 Chevelle bumper swap on my first 71 Monte back in the late 70s. Very few people noticed. Quote
Mike G Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Ohhh here we go that the 71 is the best! Ohhh wait. You are right! I have a 71. Â Well we all know the 71 front end is the best You just cant beat the rectangular turn signals and that purty grill. Quote
Mo's70MCs Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 The first is always the best! Bar none!! Quote

CKZ03 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Actually it took GM 2 years to correct their prior mistakes, fine tune and dial it in to create the best year, which of course is the 1972 Quote
ssmonte70 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Another thread hijacked But since everyone is chiming in, everyone will have their reasons for their best first gen MC. Â It depends on why you like a certain year: HP, exterior, interior, etc. Â I'm partial to the '70 and I like it best, but overall all first gens are great!!! I would take any of them. Â Troy Quote
RSF Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 Thanks for everyone's feedback. Based on the fact that this is not a simple swap out I have grown to appreciate the 72 front end. The previous owner did a complete frame off resto so the car is so nice I am going to leave it intact. Quote
CKZ03 Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Smart move, the 72 is very attractive IMO Quote
bigtankjones Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Smart move, the 72 is very attractive IMO BAH-HUM-BUG Quote
