Quarter to rocker panel?

Happy Friday all.

 

I have what is a potentially really stupid question.

 

I'll be replacing the passenger rear quarter on a 70 Monte (never done this on a first gen Monte before) I can't see how the front of the quarter is attached to the rocker panel?

 

Might be "old fogey syndrome"!

I am not positive but I believe they are spot welded that you can access from inside the quarter window cavity, and you'll probably have to remove the window regulator assembly

If you are replacing the whole quarter you can cut the old quarter just above the rocker for easy access to the spot welds. Using a die grinder or panel cutter with an air hammer. Working in a body shop part tome for 25 yrs does pay off sometimes.

Thanks guys, that's what I assumed but just wasnt sure.

 

At least I won't have to dress the welds when I weld it back on!

It is spot welded before 1/4 window goes in.Had to snake arm and mig head down opening for window to get it tacked in
