201fireman Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I am putting a new posi in and am wondering if upgrading to 33 spline axles would be worth it? Also, why can I not find any 33 spline axles for a 72 on sites like Summit Racing, Jegs, etc.? Does anyone know a part number for some that would work? Quote
420ponies Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I would go with Mark Williams "master line" axles or Moser engineering.best bang for your buck and warranteed. Quote
dbreese Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 If you plan on drag racing I would recommend the 33 spline upgrade. If you are making stupid power 35 spline. I have 33 spline Moser bolt in axles with an Eaton Tru Trac. Holding up well so far. David Quote

201fireman Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 Stock it is a 12 bolt, 2:73 open rear end. I have an Eaton Truetrac for a 33 spline and Richmond 3:55 gears. I just need some reasonable axles. I will not be pushing gobs of horsepower so reasonable is the key. I don't want to go overboard for no reason. Quote
201fireman Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 Yea that's what I had in mind. Like I said I am not pushing a ton or horsepower. Quote
CrazyDavey Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I'll see if my supplier makes a 33 with the C-clip...that might be why you're having trouble finding them..guys with 33's usually go to eliminators.... Quote
201fireman Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 Is there any reason why this one wouldn't work? This is the one listed for a 72 Chevelle? Wouldn't it be the same thing? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/yga-21287/overview/make/chevrolet Quote
CrazyDavey Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 yeah that should work....I can see if I can get a better price for you... Quote
jim's 70 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I would definatly give Davey a shot...he beat any price I could find for my rear parts by a more then decent amount Quote
