Clever Idiot Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Hey all, I got my core support blasted and powder coated after taking it apart as much as possible. Ordered a front end hardware kit from Parts Place (#HB2885Z) to put it all back together; thought it would have everything I needed. So far the only thing it's lacking are some of the fold-over clip nuts that are used to bolt various brackets onto the core support. Does anyone have a source for these? In disassembly, some snapped, all were pretty badly rusted, and all were bent in order to take them off. So blasting and powder coating the originals isn't really an option.
Leghome Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 If you have a parts store like NAPA some of them carry products by AuVeCo. This company sells all kinds of hardware for automobiles. The usually come 2 to 6 in a package according to size. There are other after market suppliers but I am very familiar with this company. Also you might contact Leo at Konick's Klassics. He is listed in our suppliers list.
Clever Idiot Posted September 3, 2013 Author Posted September 3, 2013 Yeah I have some parts headed my way from Leo. Wasn't sure if I could get these clip nuts from a local hardware or if it needed to be NPD or OPG or Leo or something like that. Guess I'll drop by NAPA.
Canuck Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I got mine at the local parts store also. The store will usually have a rack (AuVeCo or some other company) with all these kinds of hardware.
Sam (Bones) Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 my 2 bolt kits I purchased came with them???
footballubet Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 If NAPA doesn't have them any good body supply store will. They are a common item.
