Awesome...thanks...does anyone have a picture of how it should look all hooked up? Thanks--Troy
-
Please take a look at the following couple pictures in my photobucket album. I have a couple questions: 1. What is the orange coiled up circular item that looks like it is attached to the manifold? 2. Is this orange coil a part of the carb or anything else? 3. Am I missing a spring, linkage, etc on this holley carb? This is a picture from the passenger side. I'm changing this out to an orignal Rochester Quadrajet but the engine all the sudden doesn't want to keep running, won't idle and I think it's carb issues. http://s1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff464/TroyChargers80/Carb/ Thanks-Troy

Glad I was able to guess the year and color. Any prizes for that? Just for the record I've only met 2 members from the club...Andreas and Jim McQueeny (new member JMCQ442) however I've spoken to many of you via the message forum. Darren, pictures will be fantastic when you have the time. I owe pictures as well once my SS gets delivered this weekend. Thanks--Troy

Somewhat rare? Maybe a '70 SS and get this, going out on a limb with the color: Misty Turquoise I really hope it's RED. Stay safe on the long drive to get it. Troy

Get well soon Rob, can't wait to hear from you again. Troy

What did you do to your Monte today?

"group thing on Tuesday nights and sit around in a circle and when its your turn you stand up and introduce yourself and admit you have...........*." Actually...there is a group thing that you admit to. It's called OPFMCS or more commonly known as Ordering Parts For Monte Carlo Syndrome Troy -
Thanks Dan for the information. This is perfect for the Monte I have. (1970 w/402) I did look on the driver side of the trans and block in a few spots: *right above where the oil filter goes in and that matches my VIN *the block code which matches the proper block for 70 402 Monte *right next to the block code where the block/tranny meet is the VIN again So far everything matches, just wasn't sure about that trans tag and what it meant. Thanks again...Troy

Hi Everyone, I'm in need of some help clarifying something I found today when taking pictures of my Monte. On the passenger side of the Trans there is a metal "tag" attached that has numbers that I recorded below. 414 (upper right corner of tag) 70-CD 7306 (bottom of tag and these numbers/alpha read from left to right) Any help would be appreciated. I can't seem to find anything on this. Thanks-Troy

I just got the seat covers today that I ordered from the Parts Place, Inc. They are PUI covers and they look GREAT. Can't wait to get them installed. Thanks Everyone--Troy

I just ordered mine from the Parts Place, INC about a week ago. They said 2 weeks before they are delivered. I ordered black vinyl for front and back. I never looked at CARS, Inc. Hopefully the ones from the Parts Place are of great quality. Thanks-Troy

Monte has been out a couple times this winter, however it is going to be (and has been) in the 70's and reaching 80 degrees all week this week into early next week. I'm off work due to my work schedule from now until Sunday. I'll be out all over driving it around. I also need to get estimates on new exhaust. Thanks--Troy -
Thanks Bruce, You are correct they were riveted way back when. The one's today are actually "melted" on with plastic tabs using a solder iron. I think if the weather stripping is in good shape I'm finding out that these are necessarily needed. Thank you-Troy

Did some checking on the internet and found out how these "blow out clips" are installed. Troy
-
These are black corner pieces (plastic) that go on the outside by the weather stripping near the upper part of the window for a better seal to keep out wind noise. How are these installed? Thank you--Troy

Thanks--Troy

Bought back seat for my '70 Monte from Andreas...wish I could find that "elusive" front black bench seat... Thanks again Andreas...Troy -
Chuck-Thanks for looking, I'll keep looking as long as I have the car. I plan on selling the Monte due to health reasons sometime this year. Probably starting at the end of this month and continue until it is sold. Thanks again--Troy

Tom-Thanks for the idea. I never did get the parts I was looking for. I still have the originals in a box in my garage. I never thought finding new ones or a good set of used ones would be so difficult. I think I will continue looking for that elusive nice used set. Thanks again TAG

Hi Chuck, I apologize if the previous post seemed like you were getting the rubber inserts for the 70 Monte Carlo for Rob. Actually they are for me (Troy) ssmonte70. I am still very interested and again, please let me know the cost and what you want for your time. I fully understand your busy, but I am patient, especially when it has to do with a Monte part. Thanks again, TAG (Troy)

Rob-You are correct in stating that the previous posts were the wrong ones. I thank you for clearing that up for him. I believe I still have Chuck working on that for me as he was going to the salvage yard either yesterday or today. Thanks again Rob TAG
-
Chuck, Let me know how much they are and what you want for your time. I still would like a decent set. They don't have to be brand new or show quality, just so the metal insert isn't rusted thru and they aren't in such poor condition that you wouldn't put them on your Monte if you needed them. Thanks-- TAG
-
I am not sure if they were exclusive to the '70 but the originals I have did come off my '70 SS454. Just looking for a nice set to put back on after my restoration was complete. I never found them so I had to put it back together without those in place. I realize I'll have to drop the bumper to install these but that's ok, it will give me something to do. TAG

I am looking for a left and right side rubber bumper pad that goes just inside the rear bumper. These "pads" fit between the bumper itself and the rear body panel. They are held in with 2-3 screws/bolts. They are black in color and "L" shaped. They seemed to be a filler for this small area where the rear bumper wraps around the car. I believe there is a metal insert in the middle of the rubber pad which is why they normally don't make it as they seem to deteriorate and rust out. If anyone has a pair for sale, I would buy them to complete my project. TAG

Nate-Thanks. I have been watching this on Ebay as well. This is the 2nd time he has listed this item. We have emailed each other as I am leary of his shipping charges. $17.00 not hardly. I sell/buy on Ebay everyday and he is upcharging his shipping. I am in constant contact with him so if it doesn't sell we have a deal already made. Thanks--TAG

Nate-Thanks for the help. I didn't think an air cleaner would be that difficult to find. I'll keep looking as now I have another search to try and find one. Thanks for the help. TAG
