  1. Possibly this one bolts to side of carb. Two small bolts offset
  2. Oops sorry I looked at a wrong picture. I’m a dumbass
  3. Yep but he is dealing with a Holley completely different animal
  4. I was just looking at old topics and read this. WOW have I got a lot to learn. But the good thing is my emission decal matches my build sheet. AU code. Now to find a correct air cleaner for a 71 454. The search is on
  5. This may help get you the correct one or not to get the wrong one. My car is a 71 SS but built in September of 70. Carb is a number matching for my car. Hope this helps but I know that it can’t hurt
  6. Nice looking ride. Dig the dog dish caps
  7. I just took my oe rally’s in to have redone. Now I need to decide on tires. No offense to anyone that has them but I don’t want white strip ( white sidewall) original p90 code G70x15WHT STRIPE. I normally would put bfg radial t/a’s but I am noticing a lot of bad reviews because of raised white letters turning brown. Any other tire suggestions. Goodyear eagle gt2 don’t have solid white lettering. Also closest metric tire size to original Thanks Dennis
  8. I went back through the forum a few years to see if someone had posted a picture of the vacuum diagram for a 71 ss 454. I did not see any but several members suggested to look at the service manual. Which manual would it be in? I have the 71 chassis service manual but the 454 is not in it (I actually now have 2 so if anyone needs one let me know brand new still in plastic. ) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
  9. I found it on Facebook and it was in Champaign. He was the third owner but was best friends with the second owner who knew the original owner really well. Kinda makes me feel like an outcast. The guy that I bought it from is really into muscle car and normally doesn’t sell his cars but he started the body work 10+ years ago and finally figured out recently that he had to many other projects to do and he wasn’t going to finish it. So he posted it. Sorry for the long story to a question that needed a one word answer. I get carried away sometimes
  10. Hi and thanks. Very very plain interior. The only options ordered were power windows, locks and am 8 track ( yes still there). The guy I bought it from put a new oil pump in it. Engine will be gone through anyway so no problem.
  11. Thanks for the help. The answer is what I thought it should be but I wanted verification from the professionals
  12. Can someone please clarify what keys operate what locks. My car has square ignition key. All keys were lost and previous owner replaced steering column with new switch and key. I need to buy a complete lock set but I cannot seem to find any consistency from parts suppliers on what keys do what. I need ignition, doors, trunk, glove box and counsel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
  13. Thanks. I just wanted to clarify. More I guess to make sure the Rearend wasn’t replaced in late 71
  14. Thanks for that. My trim code is 24. Although not my favorite color I am going to keep it factory
  15. So I fired it up today (first time in years) and it’s leaking antifreeze out the transmission converter shield. Well frost plug or cracked block. I pulled the transmission and found a cracked flexplate and a rusted frost plug (wheeew) but look at the sludge in the motor Black like oil but it’s not
  16. That may not be the exact color. Trim tag says ascot blue. But it gives me some hope for the future. I think the ascot is a little lighter but I’m learning
  17. I am new so sorry if I am in the wrong place. Rear diff code RUC 223 (A)this (A)could be a scratch I think. Julian date of 223 (August 11) but the question is. Of what year. Trim tag says 09B. September second week. Last 6 of vin is 110865. So it’s the 10865 Monte off the assembly line. If I am guessing correct the car was built in September of 70. So the Julian date should be for 1970 even though it was built for a 71. What do you think?
  18. This is what I want when it’s done. I pirated these pictures off the internet so I apologize for using them without permission
  19. Thanks to all. I am pretty pumped about it. All numbers matching engine, carburetor and transmission. It’s got a really plain interior bench seat no tach. But it still has the am 8 track power windows and locks. The car ,from what I can see, has never been apart. I don’t know if the Rearend is a match yet but it is a 12 bolt. I have all the original interior so I am going to box it up and put in bucket seat interior but still keep it blue
  20. I picked it up in Illinois but it’s a California car. Has not see the road since 1982. I bought it in boxes but 95 percent there. Another project
