  1. I cannot say for sure, due to the previous owner passing away, however on inspection the springs do not appear to be 53 years old but on the new side. How new? That would only be a guess... Thanks, Matt
  2. Excellent information, I appreciate it 👍 Thanks,Matt
  3. Just some 275/60/15 BFG's, no rubbing. Thanks, Matt
  4. No I haven't considered that option. It's something that I might just look into. Thank you for the option and info. Thanks,Matt
  5. If your question was for my Monte, then here goes, it has stock springs, rear aftermarket sway bar (1"), and air shocks with approximately 15-20 lbs of air. Ride is perfect, and stance is perfect too Thanks, Matt
  6. Thank you very much. The color is Ascot Blue (OE color that it was from the factory, repainted of course 😁) Thanks,Matt
  7. Lol. I agree. Here's a picture of my '72 (406 SBC) Thanks,Matt
  8. I really appreciate it. One of these times Carlisle will be in the making. I have some plans for a show in Big Bear in August, so we are looking forward to that. Please share any Carlisle pics, they will all be very much appreciated. Thanks, Matt
  9. I know that it's not Carlisle material, and I can't wait to see more from your trips there (as I am following eagerly),but I ditched my 2.73 gears yesterday in favor of some new 3.08 gears in the 12 Bolt, Hoopers did an amazing job as always, completely cleaned and painted the rear end too (1 day turn around, in at 7 AM and out at 3:30PM) - I really like them a lot! Additionally, I put on a flow thru air cleaner lid: Upcoming To Do's (soon): 1) Install correct speedometer driven gear to correct speedometer reading 2) 2400 stall converter 3) Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake 4) Gear Vendor overdrive Keep the Carlisle updates coming and pictures, I really wish I lived closer (California ughh) Thanks,Matt
  10. Been pretty busy lately. Monday I did an oil and filter change. Installed a battery cutoff switch and made some new battery cables. Thanks, Matt 👍
  11. That sucks man! I feel your pain! I hope you get it set up with the proper gear soon. Thanks,Matt
  12. Here's one that I use and really like: https://www.crawlpedia.com/rpm_gear_calculator.htm Thanks, Matt
  13. I installed the proper "driven" gear in my Monte to correct the speedometer. It was off by approximately 5 MPH (reading too fast) Drive gear is purple (10 teeth) and the driven gear was White (or natural with 18 teeth), I switched it to the Red driven gear (with 21 teeth), which slowed down the speedometer and get the proper MPH reading, and all is good now. Of course it puked out right around 32oz of transmission fluid that I measured and replaced. Easy fix! Thanks,Matt
  14. I know that this is old, however your information about what you said here: "I used a coat hanger and put it in where the rear brake line attached and pushed it in and let the spring pressure push back.It moved freely I re-installed and has worked fine." This single handedly made my difficult task a success. The only extra things that I had to do was purchase another set of shorter brake line wrenches (headers in the way) and heat the 52 year old rear 9/16 nut in order to loosen it. I also had earlier purchased the tool to stop the valve from locking out the rear brakes again. Lol Thank you very much for that phenomenal suggestion to re-center the proportioning valve for the rear!!! Thanks, Matt
  15. From the looks of it, that tire is right around 27.4" tall to go with your 3.31 gears - Good information - thank you Thanks,Matt
  16. Dennis, What height tire are you running? and thank you for your input on your RPM at 70 MPH as well Thanks,Matt
  17. This is really good to see. What height tire are you running? Thanks,Matt
  18. Thank you for the information, I appreciate it. I'm not considering a 700R4 or a 2004R, just trying to pair the best 3 series gear to my TH350 and keep it somewhat freeway and highway friendly. That's why I am in-between either 3.08 or 3.31 gears over my 2.73 (currently I am leaning towards 3.08 gears and a Eaton Posi) Thanks, Matt
  19. I do have a TH350 transmission though - I like the 3.31 (wish there was a 3.2x gear, 12 bolt) just not sold yet on the RPM's on the highway yet, that's why I was contemplating the 3.08 Do most have the 3.31 coupled a TH350 or TH400 transmission or 700R4 or 2004R? Thanks, Matt
  20. That's fantastic! Question - How do you like the 3.31's? would you go even higher, say 3.08 or are the 3.31's the perfect combo? I'm curious because I am looking either to replace my 2.73 gears with 3.08 or 3.31 and an Eaton posi unit. Thanks,Matt
  21. Right now - I am just glad to have it completed and I hope to never pull it again (unless really, really needed) Thanks,Matt
  22. Thank you - Yeah that is no joke, that had to be by far my biggest challenge and thankfully Tina has small hands and arms and it was a breeze for her! And now I can aim my A/C vents in the direction that I want and they will actually stay pointed in that direction - LOL Thanks,Matt
  23. Been working on the Monte the past few days replacing: (1) Dash Clock - New quartz movement (works flawlessly, really happy with this fix) (2) Gearshift selector indicator - (works flawlessly - my fault, I broke the stock one, ughh!) (3) Replace all dash lights with "White LED's" - (looks fantastic) (4) Replace the Printed circuit board - the old one just was too brittle and practically fell apart (5) Replace all main A/C vents (middle, driver, passenger) (6) Go through all the A/C ducting and seal the joints from previous owner (just wasn't done correctly) (7) Clean everything and put it back correctly and replace any and all missing parts from previous owner (8) Lengthen the grounds for the headlight switch and the other two lower grounds that go to the support brace and install male/female connectors to make removal and installation easier Try not to pass out in the triple digit heat here in Palmdale, California - LOL Note: My wife was kind enough to come out there and assist with the re-installation and "She" is the one who re-installed the SPEEDOMETER Cable - I just couldn't get my big ol' hand and arm back there - LOL. Tina did it in one try and click, bam, done! (Credit where credit is due) Thanks,Matt
