  1. Red... and we replaced with red.
  2. No... just put in some RCA's for my amp to my head unit (stereo) under the dash. But did jot mess with any wiring in the dash. We did run new power from the bat to just befor the fuse block on the motor side of the fire wall.
  3. I will check that as soon as the guys finish playing with the speakers. Also I forgot to mention that the oil light stays on now too for some reason even with the key off and key out. Never did that either before.
  4. With the rewire and cut off of crap not needed I some how messed something up so now my car starts as normal but when I turn the key off it dues not turn off. What do I need to look for or do to get it to kill it at turn off. Is there a solenoid bad? Is there a ground needed? Etc? We took off the voltage regulator since I dont have heat or ac on the car any more and we have a new style alternator and HEI on it. Please help.
  5. Took out all the heater core and box crap from under Alize's dash All nice and open now... Using an old 1971/1972 plate I found at a swop meet to fill in the hole to be a little different. Took out all the seats and dash to run new wires under the carpet and threw the dash and back seat area. Some of the new wires going from bat #3 to bat #4 and the system. Bat #1 starts the car and runs the head lights dash lights power windows and other stock accessories. Bat #2 is hooked to bat #1 and #3 to get power and to give power to the system, and bat #3. Bat #3 is for the air ride. Bat #1 and #3 will have an isolater between them so when the car is not running Bat #3 and #4 will not be drawing from bat #1. So I can play my system and play with the air ride at car shows with out worry about not being able to start the car after. But when its running the alternator will charge all 3 bats. We should have her all done by this coming weekend. we have been taking a little longer to finish her to try and do some extra clean up since we have her pulled apart so far. I plan to shampoo the carpets and maybe spot die them since there are areas I found that are starting to fade from age (sun) Can't wait to get her done and cruising! Been a long winter!
  6. It rides better then stock, at least I think it dues. As long as you are not riding with out enough air in the air ride. LoL
  7. My winter project has been ripping out and redoing the wiring in Alize... There was a lot of crappy work done in it due to so many so called electrical professionals touching it over the years. (Hack Jobs!) So doing it up right now... Hope to have it almost done by this weekend. Since it has taken over 3 months to track down and red do it all. Got help from my man's cuz's hubby who knows wiring extra well in cars. A Few Pics of the process: Some New power Next to the Old Some of the new power and ground we are using Custom Loom Work we are working on, may be changed before we finish. but seems to be working well. I will post more pics as we get more done. Hard to see what we have done in the pics I have already taken. Basically we are removing all unneeded wiring, and updating all we can with out tearing everything apart. also redoing all the new wire that has been put in or spliced in in the last 10y that I have had it by people who thought they knew what they where doing. By the time I am done Alize will have 3 bats. One to start the car only and run some small accessories. One to run the sound system only, and one to run the air ride only.
  8. I would like to see pics of that as well, since as of now, i can't drive if my air ride was to go out. But I also have lowering spindles in the front as well, so I lay cross member when I do let out all of the air.
  9. I am useing them on my 71 Monte. I also upgraded to a bigger spindel and bigger breaks/calapers, so it stops better. I love them. They work great with my Air Ride all the way around
  10. No I did not need different fenders... Unless you are talking about the fender wells... (front) then yes, I did, becuse I have wider and bigger rims then the stock ones. The rear fenders had plenty of room to accommodate the bigger rims and air ride set up tho.
  11. Doing some more custom work on ol' Alize... Fab'n up some custom inner fender wells for under the hood... Befor Fender wells Starts on the after... Trying to get the parts tacked on and looking good...
  12. The back is a little more then the front by about 1"
  13. They are a 20"x9.5"
  14. I have been MIA the last few months... Been running crazy.... Just wanted to stop in and say HI to everyone.
  15. Sweet! Do you know if they have arred it on TV yet? I am looking to see when they will be arring the one with mine. Hope they keep the full 5 to 8 min they shot of her and of my interview. Gave them a lot of info about the car, why I did it, and the club I am part of (FGMCC). He seembed pritty impressed that a girl did most of her own work and loves the car sean.
  16. Thanks, It took over 10y to get her to where she is, and I still have a list of small things to do to her over the next year or two. I like to take my time, Can't rush prefection.
  17. I can't wait to see it... They talked to me for a few min about the Monte and got about 5min worth of walking around it and inside it. Just hope they use most of it. They even asked what car club or clubs I was in, and let them know as they interviewed me. So the FGMCC will be spotlighted with Ol' Alize LowRod too.
  18. My Alize LowRod is featured at Slamology 2011 on this My Classic Car preview for the show coming in 2012 on My Classic Car… Keep a look out for Ol’ Alize. I am going to try to record it when it comes on. It is featured at about 1:28 mark in the short clip.
  19. Oh yeah... And here is a short video clip of my new horn... It is an old sirin from around the 1950's that my BF got for me. It is too cool, since I love diforent stuff and to be diforent when it comes to my car. I was kicking around the idea for train horns, but every one has them, so I started looking at the train wistels, but they where still a little too pricy for me, so this siren was found in my BF's stuff in storrage an we hookd it up... And I fell in love. The longer you hold it in, the louder it gets... the shorter bursts you do, it is not as loud. This video is a few shorter burts... http://www.facebook.com/v/2122734701197
  20. Yeah, I am loveing it, (show panel) since it shows the club pride at car shows. The little club sticker I have on my window is easaly over looked. But with this under the hood, it sticks out and makes it look so much more nicer under the hood. I got a lot of comlements on it last weekend at a car show I went to. Since it had my name as well as the year and the car's name all engraved on it along with the club logo. At that show I took home two awards "Best Lowrider" and "Best Of Show" so I was really excited about that. I have never got a best of show. and with it I got $60 as part of the award. I also got a door prize, the toy car.
  21. They have 9 total dif colors, and from what they told me today they are makeing new caps to have chevy bowtie's in them next. I got the plain ones with the "GloRider" logo in it, witch is the first one they came out with a few years ago. So I have to save up to get the new ones with the bowties in them next... You can find them on line at www.GloRyder.com. They are a bit pricy but look great if you have nic rims.. But they only work on rims that the lug nuts are not hidden. they have to be exposed. I alos like how the show panel cleans up the frunt end and closes that big gap that is there. Makes it looks finished and classy with the engraving you can get besides the club logo. Thanks, Lots of work in her.. I have had her over 12y now and have been working on her a little at a time for the last 11y.. She has also been in a few mags and mini posters...
  22. Thanks Much!
  23. Ok... It was my BDay on Sep 10th, so I got myself a few new goodies or toys for Alize... Well my Boy Friend got me one and I got myself the other. He got me centercaps I was looking at getting for Alize's Rims that light up the rim Pink only when it is dark and when the car is moveing. They look soooo cool going down the road and siting still in the dark. I got myself the club logo grill guard thing as well for my BDay... Here it is installed today... I got it in this morning and had it installed about 20min after I got it out of the box. Probably would have had it in faster if my Little boy was not stealing my tools as we did it... LOL... Love them both... New Toys... LOL!
