It’s in a nice large parking area within the grounds at Carlisle, secured with fencing and 24 hour security. The rows of trailers are spaced wide enough so you can hook up or drop off your trailer, pull in or out without an issue too. It’s also close enough to walk to and from our Monte tent on the Showfield.

I would give the Tremec Technical Support a call and speak with the engineers regarding it. They can assist you in picking the proper transmission and gear ratio for your application.

And I still kid you about not making the Syracuse Nationals that year. Definitely an original excuse !!! -
Chris, Congratulations on acquiring your Monte Carlo and welcome to the best Club for the 70-72 Monte Carlo. We hope you become a full dues paying member. Lots of great information, Club members and opportunities to participate here either online or at one of our Club Meets. Like others have said, our Eastern Meet is coming up soon and not far from you. A great way to check it out and see what it is all about. Again welcome and we hope to see you at one of our Meets.

Congratulations on the purchase of your beautiful Monte SS and welcome and thank you for becoming a full dues paying member. It would be great to meet you at our upcoming Club Meets. -
I had a 69 Eldorado back in high school. With a 500 cubic inch motor and front wheel drive there wasn’t much that it couldn’t do. I had lots of fun with it. Great memories.

Yes, traveling from Long Island, New York to and from either Carlisle or Syracuse we like to stop and eat at Cracker Barrel as it is a novelty for us. There are no Cracker Barrel restaurants on Long Island. As far as the Syracuse Nationals, we have found excellent restaurants that can accommodate 20 or more Club and family members at one time. We like to eat at Dinosaur BBQ, Santangelo’s and Coppertop Tavern when in town. These restaurants always exceed our expectations and provide us with excellent food and service. Some homemade ice cream afterward from a local Mom and Pop stand right off the hotel property, followed by our evening bench racing sessions. Something we all look forward too at this Mini Meet.

Syracuse 'Cavalcade of Cars' 2025 car show
Montemedic replied to jft69z's topic in Local Cruises and Events
Let the Shenanigans begin !!! -
It could possibly be a flood car from the recent Hurricanes and severe flooding in Florida. A lot of classic or collector cars either get totaled, or bought cheap, then resold. They usually get resold before any rust or water damage appears. A bunch of these type of cars appear in and around the storm areas or local surrounding State(s) within 3- 12 months after the event. Something to be aware or think about. The undercarriage is unusually clean underneath, besides the spray painted exhaust pipes and mufflers with rusty turndowns in the photos. It is a special car too, as I have never seen a “Limited” first generation Monte Carlo before. Look at the emblems on the 1/4 panels in the photos. I would have to really look at it in person to determine if it was or was not. Just my observations, thoughts and 2 cents from the photos shown.

Ed, Thank you for becoming a full dues paying member and joining the best place to be for the First Generation Monte Carlo. That’s a great story with memories of your Monte Carlo too. Plenty more to be made once you’re done “refreshing “your Monte. As a full dues paying member, you can attend any of our Club Meets, Eastern, Western, GM Nationals (Carlisle PA) or Syracuse Nationals (Syracuse, NY) Mini Meets with or without your Monte. The Western Meet is nearby you this year. ‘Looking forward to seeing your progress along the way. Any questions, ask away. We love photos too. Enjoy the First Generation Monte Carlo Club and all that it has to offer.
