  1. Unfortunately, the door trim from OPGI in the Monte catalog does NOT match the FGMC (it does not have the channel running down the middle that is painted black on our cars). They would be perfect for a '68 GTO, however. Ask me how I know.
  2. Hi Rod. No - I have side terminals as well.
  3. My Dad's '70 came with side-post terminals.
  4. Looks GREAT!!!
  5. Dennis - nice work! It's always a real treat to read about your projects and the accompanying photo journals!!!
  6. Great information as always Dennis - I always look forward to reading about your various Monte projects, as you do such a great job explaining and documenting the steps involved.
  7. You're very welcome - please note the coverage of the '72 FGMC consists of a couple of small photos with captions, and a paragraph or so of text in an article covering the entire '72 Chevrolet lineup.
  8. Here is the main Monte Carlo article in the just-released Super Chevy Platinum 2012 annual. The '72 FGMC is also mentioned in the rest of the magazine (in a celebration of the 1972 Chevrolet lineup - small photos with captions). Please note that I had to crop one side of the pages in order to feed them through my scanner (the magazine is oversize). The text was not affected, but some of the photos are cropped.
  9. Congratulations!!!! Hope you have a lot of fun with it! Your Monte must turn a lot of heads over there.
  10. If you'd parked a few feet further back it would look like you've got a Huey hood ornament. Have fun with your redo!!!
  11. Praying everything goes smoothly for you...
  12. The wire from the positive battery terminal to the junction block is a fusible link. There should also be another one from the negative terminal and grounded to the inner front fender near the battery.
  13. Awesome! Must have been a fantastic time - you've done a superb job bringing Monte Fuego back to life!
  14. Really nice work, Scott!
  15. Can't help you with the drag racing/traction aspects, but adding a rear bar was one of the first things I did to my car. Your car will handle better with less body roll - you will definitely notice the difference. One of the best mods I've made to the car, IMO.
  16. "hardly any tension"?
  17. Looking good, Scott!
  18. Congrats, Rodney!

  20. Great article, great story, beautiful car!!!
  21. AWESOME - congratulations!!!! Would love to see the article.
  22. While I had previously gotten my copy via subscription, I was at the local Cub store yesterday and saw the magazine on the newsstand so I bought an extra copy to scan (I have to tear it apart to do so). Just thought anyone who hasn't read it would like the opportunity.
  23. Wow! Nice work!
