Adirondack Nationals in Lake George, NY

Looks beautiful, and the scenery is nice too. 👌 -
2 good looking Montes there

I would stay with the Quadrajet. I had mine rebuilt and have no problems, very easy to adjust.

Should I repaint to the factory color?

I agree with the others. I'm a factory guy, my 70 came black with a jade (dark green) interior. It was born that way and it's going to stay that way. But it's your car so you have to do what makes you happy. White with a green interior is a good-looking color combo. I know this doesn't really help LOL -
My 70 doesn't have a reservoir. It has a hose that discharges strait down the radiator support to the ground
-
I ended up installing a new tank with 2 vent pipes. I also installed the factory vent with 2 hoses. What a difference, the raw gas smell is gone in the garage and going down the road. The car seems to run better. I wish I would have done it years ago.

Welcome, great looking Monte. The color looks great with that Iowa license plate. Sorry about your dad. Go Hawkeyes!

She's a beauty

I ended up ordering a tank from summit with 2 vents, thanks for the responses

I'm going to finally switch out my gas tank for a vented tank and then possibly add the vaper trapper if the garage gas smell doesn't go away. I'm thinking about a 2 fitting tank unless someone can tell me why I need a 3 line tank. I'm looking for recommendations on which tank to buy and what are recommended vendors. Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I like the looks of the 72 spear over the 70 but, I'm going to leave mine alone
-
Speaking of gas tanks. I'm finally going to replace my tank with a vented tank and possibly add the vapor trapper if the car still stinks like gas. I'm thinking about getting the tank with 2 ports unless there is a reason to go with the 3 port tank. Who is the go to for a new tank??

I had problems inline also. I bought the screen over the wiper transmission, it didn't fit correctly and they didn't want to refund me. The return request was about a week after receiving it. They finally did but it was the last time I will call them. I have no idea about your flare question. Good luck
-
Thomas, when you add the Vapor Trapper do you have to tap the line into the filler neck? I have a 70 so I don't have extra vent lines. Any advie would be much appreciated. Let me know, thanks

That's a nice car for the money.

I changed mine this evening. Thanks Joe

I looked in my extra parts and I don't see it. I'll keep looking and if I find it I will let you know.

Let me get it out of storage and get a picture of it. I don't have the solenoid any more.
-
Yes Rob, the 350 had it but we never found that the 454 did
-
I had the same questions a few years ago. I thought my 70 454 should have had the solenoid. We did alot of research and could never proof that the 70 came with the solenoid. Dan James (Overdrive) made me a bracket to mount a solenoid to the factory carburetor. I ended up taking it off as it didn't seem to help. I ended up taking it off. If you are interested, you are welcome to the bracket. I also have the extension harness. Let me know, Paul

My first hot rod was a 1972 Corvette. 350 four speed, my first car was a 1973 Vega GT (Millionth Vega) it was nice looking but no hot rod. Although they are bring a few bucks these days
