  1. You would think that as many talented people here on the forum that someone would try to re-produce the heat stoves for these cars. I know I would be interested in a set for my SS
  2. Not a bad looking Monte, missing the rear bumper cushion
  3. I have one on my tree. This year my Monte on the tree had an accident. It fell off of a branch and hit a glass ornament and shattered it. I told my daughter the Monte had an accident, and she thought I wrecked my car.

Welcome, good looking Monte. Love the color
  5. Great looking color, have fun putting it back together
  6. It is for an idle stop solenoid. I did some research on this a while back. I never found any information that Chevrolet put a idle stop solenoid on the 454 in 1970. I have the harness to the solenoid if you need one.
  7. Sure, we all like pictures and projects
  8. The cluster to me looks like it's not set correctly. The metal and plastic doesn't seem to be seated correctly. I'll look for a picture of mine out of the car.
  9. Did you install LED bulbs?? When I did mine the LED bulb didn't work in some sockets. I had to turn the bulb 180 degrees to get the to illuminate. Do you have a picture of the gap?? I don't think you should have any gap
  10. I also used Tri-city as Mike did. I hit a deer, and they were able to straighten it out and re-chromed it. Looks like new. The total back in 2019 was 475.00 plus 80.00 shipping
  11. Great News, have fun with the rake
  12. Good luck, and keep us posted on your findings.
  13. I soaked my old latch in some rust remover, cleaned it up, lubed it up and added the second spring. But new works too
  14. Have you checked the advanced timing?? My motor is a stock original 454 but I had the same issue with idling and dieseling when I shut the car off and ran very rich. I set the mixture screws to the factory settings, set the advanced timing and then set the idle. The car has never run better for me. I hope this helps and good luck.
  15. The double spring really does help pop the hood up
  16. It looks good, 70 grille.
  17. Thanks, I'll keep the factory radio and stream to smart speaker.
  18. Can you share what they charged for the upgrade??
  19. My build sheet does show the radio as um1
  20. My 70 doesn't have it. My car is a Baltimore built car.
  21. The rear defroster is an option but silver tube is a breather for the fuel system,
  22. I would be interested in a Midwest meet. Near Chicago IL.
  23. You can remove the cluster without removing the entire dash. There are a couple write ups on how to do it. I've had mine out too many times. I have replaced all the dash bulbs with LED bulbs. The last time I had a tachometer that wouldn't work when the interior got hot and finally replace the original clock. The last time I replaced the printed circuit because the original was getting brittle. Remember to disconnect the grounds and shifter cable.
  24. The CRN code is correct for the 70 454. The T0107 is the plant it was made and the date. Do you see any other stampings that match the vin??? Decoding Engine - First Generation Monte Carlo Club (firstgenmc.com)
