  2. Me too, at least one original would be great
  3. That looks much better than the plastic straps. Nicely done and gives me another project
  4. I may have some used moulgings. Send me a message on which ones
  5. The wheels look great, They should have been an option back in the day

Steve, I sent you a private message, I have an extra compressor that I might part with. One of the members here (Overdrive) reproduces the brackets. As good as original or better. Let me know.

Steve, welcome to the club. A positive attitude is the only way to go. I will send you a message about a compressor. Your Monte looks like mine.
  8. What happened to your motor? Did you buy it with problems or were you mislead when you bought it? I might be interested in the car. Send me a message if you decide to sell it
  9. Denny, Dan (overdrive) makes the brackets. I thought I just saw that he posted a set. I bought them from Dan years ago, they are identical to factory. The diaphragm will be a hard find. Someone on the forum made some at one time. overdrive - First Generation Monte Carlo Club (firstgenmc.com)
  10. Thanks for posting this Glen, very cool to read
  11. It also gives you the flexibility to add another Monte without having to worry about changing the tattoo.
  12. Looking good, Roman numerals in the helmet for your 71?
  13. Beautiful Monte, welcome to the Monte madness.
  14. Outstanding, you do great work
  15. You can get the cluster out without pulling the entire dash. I have done it a couple times. you have to loosen the dash and slide it forward a few inches. Its very tight but it can be done. I have included a link that Dennis (MCFAN) did a write up a while back. Take your time.
  16. Mine was very large. My brother had his treated with radiation and all is good. Good luck
  17. I agree, get tested. Today is my 10-year anniversary of having my prostate removed. The doctor told me that radiation would have never got rid of the cancer, and I would have been gone in 5 years.
  18. It looks great, and if you find the old wheel and want to get rid of it let me know.
  19. This is the Heritage Archive Doc that shows the codes throughout the document and options in the back. 1970-Chevrolet-Monte-Carlo.pdf - Google Drive
  20. I heard the original owner kept the used parts in the merger. Maybe he pulled the nos and used parts out. I also heard he still owns the building.
  21. My 70 was born with dark green interior. The first picture is from the guy I bought it from. New carpet, cleaned up the entire interior and new carpet on the door panels. I was asked if I would change out the interior to black, the answer was No, Thats the way it came and it's dark green so most people that see the car think it's black at first look.
  22. They can be repaired, how is the horn button?? I might still be interested and try to repair it. Let me know
  23. PS. If you decide to sell the black factory wheel let me know, I'd be interested. Paul
  24. They didn't come with the Rosewood wheel but the same wheel you have with black. I like the look of the rosewood. But now that you mention the burlwood contrast I see what you mean. If it bothers you you could try to sell it and get the black wheel. My car came with the standard wheel you had in the car but I put the sport wheel on.
  25. Nice looking bunch of Montes. Thanks for sharing
