  1. Ok it really did happen, posting a couple of pics for Jim. Beauty of a 72, a little hard to see in pics but he is going to try to get better pics later.
  2. Your process is fine but try this - scuff or lightly sand area to be painted, clean trim thoroughly with wax & grease remover, apply tape (fine line works well), spray an adhesion promoter such as SEM XXX following the instructions carefully, then apply SEM trim paint available in many colors. Apply several light coats being sure not to put on too "wet" that tends to cause creeping of paint possibly under tape and builds up excessive paint film which will "bridge" over your tape potentially causing jagged edge when removing tape. Apply only enough paint to achieve coverage/hiding. With the adhesion promoter this should cure any jagged edge issues. Both SEM products are available in aerosol cans.
  3. Cause the info didn't seem to fit my application on line, so I called the place. The guy said I'm glad you called because so many people order these on line the have to return them cause they are wrong. Boy did that make me feel better as we began to look up the correct part for my car. In the end I still got the wrong part aaahhhhhhhh!!!!! For the most part I order most everything on line but just couldn't find a source for an a compressor that the info was dead on.
  4. Thinking of doing this myself a few years down the road. Looks like GM performance is starting to make retro fit drop in kits for steet rods now. I was just checking out a 6.2 liter LSX 376 today 525 hp. Being I work at a GM dealer I get a pretty good deal on stuff. I'm sure it won't be long before someone has perfected simple drop in, plug & play with various HP level applications for any A body car. Nice thread, hope to gain some knowledge here on the subject.
  5. Was going to do some work on mine but just opened up a box with an incorrect A/C compressor in it Gave them all the info in the world they needed and they still screwed it up
  6. Good decision Todd, you wont regret it. Go all out and do it up right! Great progress, keep up the good work.
  7. Freakin awesome Mike! Sounds like you will easily be in the 11's with a little tweakin'
  8. I hate satin black for this very reason, virtually no easy fix to my knowledge, other than repainting the entire panel. Touch up will look bad, can't spot it in without a halo effect, can't polish it at all as far as I know as it may shine up some. Sorry to hear of your misfortune, bummer.

    BEEN HACKED

Not sure what else I can do, changed my password twice this week alone. Password is now up to about 30 digits/numbers, heck I cant even figure out my password anymore . This is about the fifth episode of this crap this year, never had a problem like this until I got this I phone. Craps getting old, I know when these emails go out cause I get a gazillion return replies to some saying non deliverable. Im thinking maybe I need to load up some anti virus software on my phone or change some settings? Hard to say what source the BOT is attacking, home computer or phone.

    BEEN HACKED

My apologies to all that my be on my email list and recently receive some bogus scam/spam crap from my email account. Please don't open it, don't know what it is, probably a virus or worse. Im not sure what the heck is going on but Im certain it originates from this dammed I phone I got recently. Anyone else have any issues with hacking passwords out of your I phone?
  11. Looks like 72 stuff to me too. That guy got you freakin out over nothing, bad info from him.
  12. I didn't even consider that the 70 h/l's are inset towards grille more, good point Sam. That would make this set up even more difficult to pull off, probably impossible with the width of the 72 grille
  13. Makes me wonder if you also have 70 fenders. The bolt holes/pattern are different for 71/72 extensions. I think you would also have to cut recesses in the 70 extensions for the park/turn lights in the grille of the 72? I'd like to see some pics of that set up
  14. As a NON expert in this area I would say you better go with option B
  15. Opened the garage door, fired her up & backed her out of the barn for the first time since November. Sounded even better than I remembered. She's looking like a barn find with so much dust on her. Won't be driving down any road for quite a while yet due to tons of snow around here still. And need some April showers to wash away the salt too.
