1972 MC 350/Auto - LED Head Light & Turn Signal Conversion

@Robnhood, all of the bulbs work great!!  The LED headlights are bright enough to see very well at night, but not bright or annoying to oncoming traffic (nobody has flicked their brights at me).   And the 'spread' of the light is perfectly fine.

And the switchbacks seem bullet proof now that I figured out that a dash gauge lighting grounding issue was promulgating to the headlights and turn signals.  I returned a set of the bulbs thinking one was bad, but they were probably fine.

So yeah, I would recommend either or both.

Picture of my 71 NO A/C with optional factory gauge package.

FYI-There is NO POWER to the dash / instrument light fuse until you turn on the headlight switch at least to the first click for parking lights. The dimmer has to rotated to the brighter side, if rotated to the dimmest part, there may not be any power either, not sure.

I just need to sort out turn signals, but it sounds like I am well on my way.  I have replaced some of my dash lights, but I really need to take the whole instrument cluster out, and replace the circuit board, replace the plastic lens, fix the the clock, and replace the ammeter with a new voltmeter.

Of course all of the fun and games with the dash was planned out, before someone (actually somebodies) here made me want a dakota digital dash.  I have no idea, cough everyone, who that would be.  LOL!

@Robnhood, yeah I'm on that same path at some point. The ground strap I mention above fixed a bunch of stuff in my dash gauges and lights, as well as the headlights and turn signals.

I have a new circuit board and lenses but I'm not looking forward to dropping the dash. The Dakota packages quickly fall into the might-as-well category. But so much money!!!! I'm trying my best to make my Monte a REALLY nice driver for not a whole lot of money. So far so good. But yeah, the Dakota stuff is really tempting

I decided that since my MC is custom built, I opted for LED headlights with halo rings. White halo rings come on with the park and headlights, but they have amber halo lights for when the turn signals are on.

Yeah.  I am working on making my monte a really nice driver too.  I don't know how the not spending a whole lot of money thing is working for me.  I am eyeing Wilwood Brakes, rack & pinion steering, and of course dakota digital.

I already have a QA1 suspension, and I am planning on fuel injecting my monte with a sniper efi 2.

@72 Monte Carlo, the halo lights look pretty wild for sure.  And they add some good functionality.  I'm still of the 'keep it as stock as possible mindset'.  But those certainly add to safety and function as well in my opinion.

@Robnhood, well let me be the first to tell you ... you're definitely not doing a good job keeping budget, hahah!  But its all good stuff, sounds like.  I have to keep reminding to ask myself "will this keep the Monte in the garage and take away driving time?".  And the answer is most assuredly YES.  Mine was in the garage for 1 1/2 years due to too many projects at once - some necessary and some unnecessary, but all related to function and/or safety.

So.  Short version of a long story.  My Monte sat for over the best part of 10 years.  It was no bodies fault, and I am certainly not blaming anyone.

This is a reset so to speak.  This is a new chapter in my life, and my thought has been to get my monte carlo up to tip top shape while I drive and enjoy it.
