Ron I notice that you have not ran your AC flex hose. I think you are going to have a problem with the gauge electrical box you have sitting on top of your glove box.

Thanks for pointing that out Carl! I'll check and see if I can make it work. If not I made sure to have enough wire length to relocate if necessary (it's mounted with velcro).

Ron,

Where did you buy the uni-strut looking material for the left speaker bracket?

Local hardware store like Ace or bigger like Home Depot?

A friend actually gave that to me about 30 years ago. I was so happy to finally find a use for it.. 🤣

They use them to help support the back of a car stereo head unit. I'm sure you could find one at your local parts store.

Thanks Ron!

I'll check the local Ace Hardware to see if they have something.

Joe sent me a link to RetroSound 4x6 speakers, but the reviews on them aren't the best.

I some Kenwood 4x6 speakers with a more shallow magnet, but they sound like crap compared the RF Punch P1462 speakers.

There is just so little room to make the speaker fit in the Driver's side dash between the cowl and the instrument cluster without the speaker rubbing on the printed circuit board for the gauges.

Anyone else have another choice for speakers for the stereo dash?

Depends on what you want and how you want to mount different speakers. 3.5 fits well up in the dash then possibly some 6.5 in kick panels then 6x9s in the rear

I have a set of Rockford Fosgate Punch P1462 4x6 speakers for my stereo dash, but the driver's side area between the cowl and the back of the instrument cluster, doesn't leave enough room to mount it there even with custom speaker mounts. It wants to sit right up against the cluster printed circuit board.

I already have a brand new set of really nice Cerwin Vega 6x9 speakers in the rear package tray.

I was thinking of finding a set of 3.5" or 4" speakers for the dash, and then maybe move these 4x6 RF Punch speakers down to the kick panels.

@1Bad454 What size and model are your Hertz speakers?

I'm running their 3.5". Here's a link to a full selection of 3.5" speakers. https://www.crutchfield.com/g_400/All-Car-Speakers.html?tp=105&fa=1#&nvpair=FFSpeaker_Size|3-1/2

FYI Crutchfield has a virtual feature that allows you to listen to different speakers to see what you like.
