I need the expandable ducts. They seem to only sell in 6'ft pieces. I don't need 6'ft in the large or the two smaller ones

You are correct

Double check the sizes you want because I don’t think they sell them car specific.

@Jeff Dodson,

Who is the vendor associated with that diagram?

And are the 70 to 72 Chevelle parts an exact (or close) replacement for the Monte Carlo?

I've got my dash pad off and discovered a whole host of to-do items under and around it.  Including a DIY duct work hack job.  Even having that photo that you posted is helpful so I know what the goal is.

I think I screenshot it from here. Main thing is measure your vents, Parts Place has them. I didn't order them yet. Got a few other things to straighten out

@Jeff Dodson, thanks.  I dont see a link in your response.  I went to the Parts Place web site and was able to navigate to

Chevrolet Monte Carlo > Interior > DEFROSTER, HEATER FRESH AIR & AC DUCT HOSE

It looks like they sell the various diameter hoses in 6ft lengths.  I just need to figure out what diameters I need to replace all of the hoses under the dash pad.  I dont see a reference for that.

Thanks though!

Okay this is what you need.

3 1/4 ID 24” long

1 3/4 ID 5” long

1 3/4 ID 12 1/2 long

These are the stock measurements. You can find all these at NPD web site.  One thing you need to remember is that they say 3” ID is correct. no it’s not call you order in and ask for 3” 1/4.  They do sell the 3 1/4 in a 36” length. It is still a little tight but it will go. I know because it happen to me.  Search for Heater Hose and Defroster. Let me know you make out.

I only bought the larger one from them because this stuff is so expensive. The 3 1/8 will work, but its tight. If your dash is out put it on the duct deflector first. Maybe they are selling those sizes to fit their repro crap. Do you have the original ones. Ill post pictures tonight. I don’t remember where i got the 1 3/4. Might be amazon

@MC-71I will do some more research myself. Yeah, those prices seem a bit spendy for a simple hose. I appreciate their hussle though!

You can get the 1 3/4” ID on Amazon. Search AA black flex battery vent hose tubing. It’s a 3’ pc at $14.99.

Go with the one NPD sells. They sent me the 3” ID that didn’t fit. I called them and told them it was wrong. They said keep it and I asked for 3 1/4” ID they sent 3 1/8. It was tight getting it on but I made it work. Hope the pictures help. Buy the 1 3/4” right a way because I think they will be going fast.

Ok, here is what I ordered ...

This 3-1/4in ID hose from "Old Air Products" via Amazon. Looks legit and is more than I need. But material wise it's the right product

3-1/4 Inch ID Cloth Duct Hose AC Heater Defrost, 6 Feet Cloth [91-56C] Air Conditioning https://a.co/d/5oRhBKi

Old Air Products also sells the 1-3/4in ID hose. But I ordered the one recommend above from Amazon since all I need is the 5in long section. Looks like a PO replaced the longer 1-3/4in tubing with a good, metal flexible hose. Wish I knew where that came from!

I'm just realizing that regular 'scat tubing' would undoubtedly work in this application.  I used it for heat ducting on my plane years ago - duh!!  Aircraft Spruce will sell in 3ft minimum length increments, for both the 1-3/4in and 3-1/4in ID for $78.90 plus tax and shipping.  Dang, I wish I would have remembered that before I ordered off Amazon.  I suppose I can cancel / return ... hmmm

You can get the metal tubing at just about any Lowe's or Home Depot.

Also, having worked in building construction, most HVAC guys can hook you up too. ;)

It's the 3-1/4in ID that's a little less available, even in HVAC applications.  Hence, the specialty suppliers.  Again, Aircraft Spruce - or even Wicks - is what I should have done.
