FeSo4man Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Hey all, I'm finally getting my car back from the body shop (3 years later) and watched Jared's video on YouTube covering different seals/rubber needed. It was a good guide and want to make sure I have my bases covered when I get everything ordered. So far my list is: -Rear vertical WS seal -Inner vertical WS seal -Bumper fillers -Rear bumper to body seal -Roof rail -Door seals -Trunk seal -Window felts -Door handle gaskets -Door jamb U rubber (this was disintegrated on my car) -Inner fender to cowl Is there anything I'm missing there? My second question: In the video Jared recommended Soffseal and NOT Metro on many of the pieces. Since then, it looks like RestoParts has a branded version of many of these items. Especially on the roof rail and door seals, but also in general, does anyone know if they're using one of those two as a supplier and rebranding, or if the RestoParts seals are recommended? Thanks! 1 Quote
B-Man Posted March 11 Posted March 11 @FeSo4man, here is a link to my recent foray into the window felts and seals while redoing my door panels and converting over to power windows and door locks. I bought some parts and then returned them - didnt fit and werent the same style. The weather stripping is all that needed replacing, and I ended up picking up some adhesive backed stuff off Amazon. The window felts on the inside of my door panels were in good shape, so I reused them. Someone else suggested a Dixie Restoration set of parts, but there was no photo and i didnt want to buy something and return it again. https://www.dixierestorationdepot.com/Product/Detail.aspx?s=DA60034 WIDEMOLD&d=71 1 Quote
Jared Richey Posted March 11 Posted March 11 The rear quarter window seals are made by Fusick only. The 70 "L" pieces are metro and they very nice The other weatherstripping is to FAT made by Metro they seem to make everything to fat. 59 60 GM fullsize rubber same way As in the video I recommend Soff seal on doors, trunk and Especially Roof Rails! For cost and fit its the best. 1 Quote
Scott S. Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I got several of those parts from Parts Place. They seem O.K., but I'm sure there's probably better ones out there. 1 Quote
