Just curious.......Why does it need to be an original big block when there were no Vert Monte's ?

Lots of options out there, and experience and comments on the forums. I upgraded mine years ago, I don't drive the Monte at nite, but needed more light at the end of the track. I even have to hit the high beams on the DD 🙃

I had the same issue with my trailer tire pressure monitor, thought it was bad outta the box. Till I took off the sunglasses 🤣

I tried the SS plate on the front (FL doesn't have front plates) didnt like it so now its on the DD 🤣 I had a lady in a Porsche ask me what the SS stood for, I filtered my first response and said Super Sport. I wondered if she googled it 🤣

I always say, a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay. So if you were willing to pay that # then its all good. I do sometimes have "buyers remorse" on big ticket items , but then I get home, pop the top on an adult beverage, and say..well I'm NOT eating dog food for the next month, there are no overdue bill letters, so no harm no foul 🤣

I use that to cool ME off NOT the Monte 🤣

On a side note, not sure if you did this with the edlebrock.....When I went from the original 454 to the crate with a Holley I had to get an adapter for the throttle cable. No biggie just fyi

Again just my .02.........Ive never heard from anybody that's done the spread bore to square bore adapter on my specific situation with positive comments. You'll get Holley fans, Edlebrock fans both with positive comments. I'm on the Holley side. Try to mimic the Holley spec's to the original quadrate spec plus some for the cam

Are you replacing the Rochester ? Any mods on the drivetrain ?

The stock/original group will prob say go back to factory. I say do what you want and what you like. The bottom line is it worth the extra money for you Obviously I'm partial to Green 🤣

I went with ARH headers, very pleased. Yes they are pricey, but I don't think ive seen any other brands tuck up so nicely . I don't know of anyone with a Monte that went with the exhaust system so I'll just say this. The headers are spec'd for Monte's, the exhaust system is spec'd for A body cars. Just my .02
