  1. VERY NICE!!!!!!!!! When is it's first show? Mine will arrive from Alaska in June, but the car won't make the club shows. I'll will try to attend the Carlisle mini meet without her.
  2. I can tell you it fit easy. Took off my 72 wheel and replaced it with a 1970 sport wheel. had it leather wrapped and modified the center cap (a suggestion from a fellow member).

    Hood

Let us (me) know if you find anything out. I have a hinge going out and I'd like something that would hold it half open for show display. When you look at the car straight on from the front with the hood fully up you can't see the rest of the car.
  4. I think a change might be good however Monty is OK either way.
  5. WELCOME! WE LOVE PICS!
  6. I take it she doesn't read this blog!
  7. Between calendars and posters that Monte is everywhere!
  8. I plan to be there with or without the Monte If I find a house and get moved by then. What were the dates again?
  9. Must admit she polishes up real nice.
  10. Fredricksburg/Spotsylvania or Stafford.
  11. Started her up today and aired her out. Cleaned and polished and now she's ready for her journey across the country to Virginia next week. See you in about 3 weeks Big Orange!
  12. Reminds me of the 302 Maverick I had as a teenager. to change the rear plugs you had to access them from the wheel well.
  13. Saw my first one in 1970 in a showroom before I could drive (12+ years old) and thought it was the neatest car I ever saw. I brought home the brochure and hung up the pic of the black SS on my bedroom wall. After many years I finally was in a position to own one and jumped at the chance. Still think it's the neatest car of that era. There are more popular cars from that time but I've always been one to not follow the "herd" and find my own favorite
  14. Send lots of pictures. We love to see the evolution as you restore it.
  15. Welcome to the Jungle! Don't forget to post lots of pictures. We all love to see them and possibly steal some ideas. 😬
  16. So far only true Monte Geeks like us are the only ones to notice. Those are the kind of custom touches I like.
  17. Using the E brake here in Alaska and other cold climates is a bad thing as the brake shoes can freeze to the drums.
  18. Went all black on mine plus a subtle modification that most people wouldn't notice.
  19. I got the kick panels from OPG they came with Kenwood speakers. If you go that route, be careful the panels are hard plastic and not as robust as the stock panels.
  20. Retro Sound makes a good product. installed one with an amp located under the driver's seat. Moved the front speakers to the kick panels. A bit of a tight fit with the pedal but who needs brakes anyway?
  21. Started mine up on Wednesday. Ran it up for an hour to burn off some gas. Just a little dusting of snow. Only about 8-10 inches total this winter (Very unusual). Soon it will be on its way to Virginia. Hope to meet some members this summer when I get there.
