  1. Aaron, You could have contacted me to verify the mileage. I would have shared pics and also the paperwork proving I was the second registered owner. I bought the car with 8,801 original miles on it and drove it to a little over 11,000 miles. I documented the odometer along with the dates In pictures. Funny, it turned over to 10,000 miles right in front of the Dairy Queen on Sunday Cruise Night! I loved that car, but selling it helped me get to my ultimate SS. You're absolutely correct: "Pros" will always try to find something wrong. Their loss! BIG WIN for the new buyer!
  2. It's like an old girlfriend; You just don't want to accidentally see her! Congrats on your sale, Aaron!
  3. I found this old article I had clipped from a magazine thirty four years ago. Just wondering, if anyone knows if this fellow is a member here? His name is Ralph Wyatt (Ohio) Keep in mind this was from 1991. Looks like a great car with a few rare options!
  4. Search over. Thanks guys!
  5. Merry Christmas to me! My gift to myself arrived just in time for Christmas. It was $25, and well spent. He also offers this emblem alone, or with "454" in place of the "SS" and makes these in a few different sizes. The quality is outstanding! Eric, at Hotwater3D makes many other car emblems. Great seller and easy to deal with. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1724566309/vintage-1970-monte-carlo-ss-3d-printed?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=monte+carlo+ss+emblem&ref=sc_gallery-1-2&sts=1&plkey=569992e5b0bf510f708d1672ded887e1401dde72%3A1724566309 I'm talking to him about making some grill and trunk emblems as well. These will all look great in my Monte mancave!
  6. Last year I sold my 71 NOS grille in factory GM box to a member here. Let's just say, the insurance company who replaced my broken grille with this one paid $1,700 for it.
  7. Stangeba, yes, I do know and should have posted that option. Thanks!
  8. Hey guys, A buddy is looking for a defrost Y duct for his first gen Monte. Does anyone have one for sale? Thanks, Jeff
  9. I agree with Canuck. I'm also happy to say I've made great profits on several Montes over the years, and as long as both buyer and seller are happy, you can call that a successful transaction. (Regardless of who made what.)
  10. I have set off a 71 SS. They need patch panel along bottom in the typical area. I am in Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E-2K9 if you want to check on shipping? Jeff
  11. You're welcome! Funny, the grille came to me from California in the first place and is now back home and on your awesome Monte!
  12. Ronnie, that is going to be 1Bad454! Cant wait to see it finished!
  13. I recently found an old stash of Autotraders from 1986. I was 22 yrs old and selling Monte #1 (1970, 350 small block) to fund my first SS (71 SS454). Check out these unbelievable prices!! I could buy 4-5 Montes for what I just paid for my paintjob on my current Monte SS #3! And yes, there was even a 70 Superbird 440 for just $12,000! CANADIAN $! Someone should call to see if these are still for sale! 😄 Jeff

  14. Agreed! Possible frame damage is what I was thinking as well. Not saying anything is hidden, however it is always best to look at all factors!
  15. Will be another week or so here in Winnipeg, but is warming up and melting! It's all good though, am still reassembling the Monte from getting a new paint job a few weeks ago!
  16. Monte CARLOAD!😎
  17. Grant, keep that snow in your province! Am next to you in Manitoba and we're expecting snow tonight! We're all itching to get out and drive! I can remember 2 years ago cruising on dry streets on MARCH 10TH! C'mon spring!
  18. I can attest to this car's originality! I bought this car in 2014 from family member of lady who passed after having it in her garage 34 yrs. Her husband passed away in 1980 and she never drove it. It was like owning a brand new Monte! I actually drove it on the original tires and took a little getting used to, lol. This car's a time capsule and still had the Frost shield on the passenger window! Interestingly enough my dad was the Temro rep for the city and I wonder if he actually sold them that? Will never know but it's interesting to think of. The car had just over 8,600 Miles when I bought it. I drove it to just over 11,000 miles (as seen in pic) when I sold it in 2018 and it went to BC. Here are some pictures documenting the odometer (rolling over to that dreaded 10,000!) This happened right in front of the Dairy Queen on cruise night one Sunday! No buildsheet under seat? Will be interesting to see if when you find it. Perhaps between gas tank? Kudos, Aaron! it's so great to see your complete lineup of First Generation Montes! 70, 71 & 72! They look great together! Jeff 70 SS

  21. I get what you mean about the color, but this is one nice car! I personally am not a fan of blue, but that's just my choice. To each their own!
  22. Those are cool! I'm in Canada so have to wait (hopefully not more than a month to drive my car.
  23. So cool when that happens! 1 out of 365 chance it can occur, but pretty cool discovery!
