  1. Very nice!! Make sure to check out the 4K video. My opinion; Thats a great price for this car! You couldn't buy an SS and get this quality for the price. Rotisserie restored and did I hear ceramic coating? Sure, there are a few things here and there with the interior which need attention such as the headliner, but not a deal breaker. Not a fan of the trunk lock delete, but again, WOW! Niiice!
  2. They might be, but will PM you with details over the wknd.
  3. I also have 2 (non working) if anyone interested. Jeff 70SS
  4. Hey! I just noticed that shed shaped hood scoop!
  5. MAN! This video came just 38 Years too late! It's ok though..."Who DOESN'T need a nosejob?" Jeff 70SS
  6. Hey guys, Does anyone have an extra one of these to sell me? I am looking for new condition only. I have looked at The Parts Place, OPG, as well as others and they ALL charge huge amounts to ship! It's unbelievable to me, but it is what it is! Thanks! Jeff 70 SS
  7. I have to tell you guys how 21 yr old me broke my nose and nearly took out my eye from working on these loaded missiles! Back in the day (1985) my 71 Monte SS (#1) had just been painted and there was overspray all over my newly chrome plated hood hinges and springs (hey! I did say it was 1985!) I removed them from the car, compressed the hood hinge with rope, and went to town on it with my wire brush attachment on my drill. I also used some paint reducer, without realizing it was providing lubrication for the rope to move, when WHAMMM!!!! The spring unloads sideways across the bridge of my nose, barely missing my eye! I was alone in my shop and came to a few minutes later in a drying pool of blood. (I know this because the last thing I remembered was a song just came on the radio and it was just ending when I peeled my face from the drying blood on the floor!) All in all I was sooo lucky, but man! was I hurt! ......SUCH AN IDIOT! I learned from that experience. Even though I'm older and wiser, I would not touch one of these again, though; best left to you professionals out there (those who "can" do this!) Jeff 70SS
  8. Am unsure, but remember this "snipped variety" (😄thanks Glen!)being off a 72 as well, so that echoes what others here have said. Jeff 70SS
  9. I bought this smooth ended tank several yrs ago from a guy who had it on his Monte. I knew it was a bit off, but couldn't say for certain it was true to the Monte. I also recently read in a thread where there may have been 2 types of G-67 tanks used; (some had a smooth end) were these used only on 70-71 Montes? I should mention although the pic looks otherwise, these tanks are exactly same size Jeff 70SS
  10. Those look great for the price! Very nice driver quality and look like they will polish up nicely
  11. YUK! That black 70 should have gone for maybe $10k...Man! what a ROUGH CAR! Whoever bought it better be a body man / painter! Depending upon what's discovered once sanded down, I'm sure it would cost $25,000 just at the bodyshop!
  12. I did not know that about the 71 Montes. My 70 SS has a black column btw Thanks
  13. I'd be interested to know if mileage in fact was accurate.
  14. 70 SS for sale with 20,000 miles(?) hmmmm.... https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1970/chevrolet/monte_carlo/101851647
  15. Attaboy for listening to those Spidey senses!
  16. And the only paint color would be black on the steering column on an SS
  17. While I agree with you, it hardly qualifies as disturbing the originality, there simply was no need to; I also really didn't want to remove or disturb anything, bc it was an original find and I was selling it that way. Even though the car was like a brand new Monte with so few miles, there was nothing otherwise very special. 1972 350 2 bbl. no AC, no power options. Now, if this were an SS, or a Custom...then we're talking!
  18. This first car at top of post was actually my 8,000 mile (Mojave Gold) 72 Monte. I sold it to a fellow in British Columbia about 4 years ago when the odometer just turned to 11,000. I was going to make a post seeing if anyone knew why this very odd combination occurred? I do know this car is 100% original: it sat in garage for 34 Years and was never touched. I was curious about a build sheet when I owned the car, but never wanted to disturb the originality by removing the back seat, etc. The car's a living time capsule...why mess with it? Jeff 70SS
  19. I too went directly to the good part. Funny though, at 17:17 when they say, "oh look, another car!" I thought it was a 70 monte, bc there were green door panels standing in foreground. They were actually green SHUTTERS! Those shutters do kinda resemble 70 monte door panels!
  20. I found this seller online a few years ago and bought several items from him at very reasonable prices. He's a wealth of information & a very nice fellow to speak with. I was looking for factory GM NOS parts for my Monte and he really delivered! Grille emblem, hood spear and bumper guards. His name is Denver Gatrell, Berlin Center, Ohio 330-547-2139. Give him a try if you're looking for something specific. Jeff 70 SS

  21. That's how most of them look! Like they've been underwater, but still work! I have a few others look the same.
  22. Shipping will be $45. Please let me know if interested. Jeff
  23. I remember the thrill of going to the junkyard in the 80's and finding several Montes, Chevelles, (other classics) to pick thru. Once a month it was all you can physically carry to the front gate for $50! Go thru a yard today, and it's nothing but 4 door sedans and mini trucks! ahh...the good ol days!
