  1. You could fit a Monte Car-LOAD! Great decision on GM's part to NOT produce this!😝
  2. Shipping to US is between $18-23
  3. I bought this new from a GM dealership in 1982 and never used it. It's for a small block Chevy from 1969-1974 . GM sticker still on it. Part#6272719 I'm asking $50 for it. Thanks, Jeff
  4. This has stumped me for decades, since my first 71 (in 1981). I'd love to have an answer! (or at least a funny guess?) Anyone? Bueller? ðŸĪŠ
  5. Yikes....Looking at your Protect-O-Plate, it seems like you have a CORDOBA! (much more to worry about than a TYPO!, lol!) Keeding! I am KEEDING! Jeff 1970 SS454 BLACK
  6. I love the details and slight differences between the 1970, 71 and 72 Montes. These grille emblems not only just fit the grille for the specific years they came out, but also have slight identifiers in the Roman Numerals as seen at the top of the knight's helmet. (This is also true for trunk emblems in 1971 & 72.) Does anyone know why in 1972, they didn't just add another line beside the numeral for 1971? *There was certainly room for it! Jeff 1970 SS454
  7. Took this artsy pic over the summer as I was driving home from the lake. Kind of makes me think of a Tarantino poster. Is it an SS? (yeSS) Jeff 1970 SS454 Black
  8. Rob, MUCH THANKS for this! I am definitely going to look into these! I may be new to this site, but am 40 Years into the Monte! Am on my third SS since 1983! And starting in 1981, had 4 other 350's from 70-72) Jeff 1970 SS454
  9. They simply clamp on... No muss, no fuss! I did have to "spring" for 2 packages though😉 Jeff
  10. I was able to get a ride to the shop today and take a few pics of the $4.99 chrome edging I found at Bianca Amour's discount store. Btw, you can usually find the same type in a lot of stores for up to $20. It was super easy to install and looks great! Now I just have to buy some headrest escutcheons, paint the seatbacks & buy those little chrome bullets to finish off the process! Jeff 1970 SS454
  11. Thank you for all the wisdom shared here! I now know what that part was, and never thought to look on my buildsheet. I am going to look for this on my current 70 SS and see if I can find it! Jeff 1970 SS454 Black
  12. I will take a pic when I get to the shop, but unfortunately have been re-cuperating at home for about a month.🙄 Can't wait to see my car again!
  13. I owned a 38,000 mile 1970 SS Monte from Texas. When I removed the rad, this tag fell off of the bottom! I'm so glad I heard the sound when it hit the floor! Otherwise it would have been swept up with all the other debris! WHAT IS THIS PIECE? This is my 3rd SS and have never seen this before. Jeff 1970 SS Black
  14. At the risk of soindong cheap, I don't mind saying, Before spending all that (US to Cdn) money I thought I would try the $4.99 fix from the Bianca Liquidation Center here in the city. It fit like a charm and although it's not Factory I find it's a great fix for now! They also sell at Canadian Tire for $19.99 but is a little too small to fit. Jeff 1970 SS Black
  15. I've got to say I have really enjoyed this entire post! Thank you for taking the time to post!! I too have done a lot of work to my 70 SS, but not the magnitude of what you've gone thru! One thing I wish was when I re-did and removed/ replaced the dash, I had the Windshield OUT of the car! Now THAT would have made my life soooo much easier and would not still have such a sore neck! Awesome post, sir!! keep em coming!
  16. Here's a pic of a Canadian SS tag from a car that I completely stripped, picked clean and buried almost 20 yrs ago! Z20!! Jeff 1970 "Z20" Black
  17. That's such a great story, Larry! I love history; espercially car history! The car definitely belongs to the right person! Fellow Canadian. Jeff SS454 Black

    SS454 Info Page

Canuck, THANK YOU for posting this! So far this is THE MOST comprehensive information on our beloved SS's (Ess-Ess'z) haha Jeff 1970 Ess Ess
  19. WOW! I had no idea any of these cars actually existed! Much like the GM discussed "Convertible", the LS6 was also a no show once the Monte was produced. Thanks for ALL this detailed and insightful information on a such a rare car! I wonder if some "Multi Millionaire" was to make an offer, how much this car could go fo Jeff ("just" an LS5 Monte SS)

    DYNA Mat

Great topic guys! I am looking into replacing my carpeting and always wanted to use Dyna Mat (or other) underneath! Thanks for all the advice! Jeff 1970 SS454 Black
  21. I am going to look for that pic I have of the old paint scheme. I believe it's the same car (a 1970), as the open panels, etc. seem to be exact. *I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken!😜
  22. What would you guys pay for this? It was created at General Motors back in the day. It used to be different colours; I remember seeing the original video from some old website many years ago, but it has now been repainted the colours you now see it. How I would love to have this in my collection!I wonder how much this would cost? How much would you guys pay for this? Jeff 1970 SS454 Black
  23. Oh, to have a time machine! Thanks for posting! Jeff 1970 SS454 Black
  24. Man! Great start to a beautiful car! Be careful if you remove the gas tank you may have an original build sheet in much better condition between that and the floorboards! I had a 38,000 mile Texas SS and the almost white build sheet was still stuck between! Jeff 1970 SS Black
  25. Being the owner of a black car myself, and the proud owner of a new paintjob, mine was wetsanded. YOU CAN'T BEAT IT! I completely agree you did the proper thing! You should be proud, this car looks like a deep mirror! Just awesome!👍😎 Jeff 1970 SS454 BLACK
