  1. Do you have one of those laying around for sale. I need one mine is missing a tab on each end and the can keeps falling off
  2. Get yourself a harbor freight polisher and some foam pads. Less likely to burn compared to the wool pads. I did wool pads with a professional buffer. Then did the finish buff with the harbor freight buffer and foam pad
  3. I think I will get it there. May not be 100 percent but hey are they ever 100 percent
  4. More progress, have door handles. My knuckles were getting cut up sticking my finger in those door holes.
  5. For buffing I'm using the new meguiars 100 and 200. Big improvement over the old diamond cut and the 110 210 products. I'm like the workability of the 100 and 200. For those interested
  6. Well its coming along. Now I hope I remember where all the parts go to put Brandy back together
  7. More progress, shot the areas with the little gun
  8. Shot the rocker panel black today.
  9. I started the refresh of my Monte I Nov 23. Many of you have seen the various levels of progress. It is now time to do a repaint. Maybe be ready for Carlisle? Last time I painted the car was 1990. I hope I am doing things better this time around. That kid back in 1990 put too much paint in the rear tail lights it was terrible to strip and blast out! Well here are some progress photos
  10. I seeking a pair of door edge trim for my 70. Gm 993802 Greatly appreciate any leads on where I might obtain a set. Michael
  11. Driving it around, it is ok sound. Better than stock but nothing like today's car audio. To make it great would need to do an amp with proper frequency cut offs. What I have works for playing some Boston, journey and damn Yankee tunes
  12. Absolutely no interference. It was tight on the driver side due to instruments cluster put a piece if sheet rubber in there.
  13. Those look really great
  14. Just to share my costs. The covers, foam, burlap, new plastic backs, and misc seat hardware was under 1500. Upholstery shop to install all was an even 1000. Just under 2500 for 2 bucks and rear bench. Still some coin, but the old foam had disintegrated into powder every time I sat in car yellow dust blew out. Really super happy with the results of the redone seats. I did conver the driver side from power to manual slider. The power module which I have is shot.
  15. I replaced the radiator today. Bought one from US Radiator. Upgraded to High Efficiency, went with 3 core like original, built in transmission cooler, copper brass construction. For a BB 396/454 car. I believe the High Efficiency has more horizontal bars, it seemed to take about a 1/2 gallon more fluid. It is awesome. It definitely runs cooler as I can see the gauge flucutate from a standing still to a moving down the road. Very happy with this purchase. If you choose to do this on your car remember to go on Amazon or opgi and order new rubber mounts. If you have a BB car you need a larger rubber for the fill side tank top and bottom, and the shorter rubber for the other side.

  16. https://www.yearone.com/Product/1964-72-chevelle-monte-carlo-el-camino/bs770m10uc Part Number:BS770M10UC Hope this helps. Black cloth
  17. Was not really a kit. Bought each component as needed. A kit would have been great. The seat covers were complete with cloth and side vinyl.
  18. I bought foam, burlap, covers and hardware from year one. I cleaned up the springs and took the seats to an old time upholstery shop to have the covers and foam installed. Probably would have been cheaper to just buy completed seats to be honest. But they are really nice
  19. Just posting that I got my seats in
  20. Folks, easy project today. I installed the rear weather seal behind the side panel cards. I search and see many people attach these with tape. I have found tape to fail over time and get brittle. I used butyl tape which I purchased from home depot. It worked great. Not sure of long term durability but I think it will be good. It is similar to the black tar stuff the factory uses. Here are some pics. The roll of tape is shown in one of the photos.
