I use Firefox and have noticed it being slow lately. Today however, it seems to be loading pretty fast. Did Ian or Allan do something in the background??

I have the manual gears in mine with the stock speedometer cable and it works fine. Just have to get it calibrated now... On a side note, if your speedometer starts doing strange things after you have handled the speedometer cable, reach under the dash and make sure the cable did not slide out a little from the back of the speedometer. That happened to mine and when I reseated the cable it fixed it.

As long as you don't make changes that are not reversible, value shouldn't be an issue. Keep any original stuff you pull off the car. Like was said, you are the one driving and flipping the bill. There is a requirement of posting pics however.

How do we know all SS cars were 454's? Just curious. Is it the lack of any 402 cars with buildsheets that have Z20?

So with my Holley 770, it is not unreasonable to expect at least low teens once everything settles in and cruisin' on the highway in OD, right? None of the driving I have been able to do has been highway and the numbers have me wondering what it will cost to drive to Polson.

I have been monitoring mine to prepare myself for the Polson trip. I am gonna have to sell some blood or plasma for gas money

My 454 (460) is getting 7-8 mpg just cruising around. Still breaking in though.

Ian, I could not find any place to confirm the two year info, but from what I did find the K case was a truck thing. I will call the guy that built my tranny's and see what he says.

Try to get a 'K' case if you get a 700r4. They only made them for two years and they are thicker than the standard case. There is a K clearly visible on the outside.

My understanding is this is the code for a warranty replacement for defective original engine.

Well, I just spoke to John "Pop" Holden, the man that opened Community Chevrolet where my car was sold. Very nice guy. I asked him if he might have any pictures of the dealership from 1970 and he says "I sure do". Not only that, they only sold a few SS454's and they took pictures of them all. He might have a pic of my car on the lot or with the original owner or both

I just used streetview and I believe that is it.
