  1. I bought a pair from the Parts Place. Those of you that have installed the fender shields, Do you install the shields under the inner fender? Do they need to be trimmed? I have seen pictures on line that show the A frame shields on to or the engine side and the bottom side. And are there any installation tips? Any info would be great
  2. Thanks I will take a closer look
  3. No Haven't run it down yet. Here would the kickdown be?
  4. I have another wiring question. I was under the car changing oil and noticed the harness on the transmission solenoid has an extra wire. The one thats unpluged is black with a purple stripe. The harness that's plugged looks like it's orange. Any ideas?
  5. Neutral safety switch???

Joe, that looks fantastic what a great start. Where did you find the goodyear tires?
  7. The door molding. They don't seem to lay flat to the door. They seem to bow out so I not sure if thats normal or maybe some clips are missing
  8. I just refinished mine, it was painted black and I removed the black and painted it silver. MCfan has a great write up when he did his. I went with argenr paint not chrome paint. Good luck
  9. Is there any trick to removing the lower door moldings? I see two screws, one on each end but I'm not. Sure how to remove the clips.
  10. Success, I couldn't wait until the weekend. I got the bumper off which was easier than I thought it would be. It was also easy because someone before me left off the bolts above the licence plate and two lower bolts. I also had to remove one of the quarter exstenions to install a speed nut for one of the moulding screws. While i have the bumper off I'm going to replace the bumper guard cushions and clean things up. I'm learning so much about this car. Thanks for all the input...
  11. From what I have read, the engine plant put the T0106CRN stamp on and the assembly plant stamped the VIN stamp on the block when the engine was assigned to the car which makes sense. I haven't been able to figure out what the 188 represents.
  12. I have been looking on different web sites but I can't figure it out
  13. Thanks for all the advice, I'm going to give it a look this weekend, I'll keep you posted, thanks again
  14. Rock, where do you recommend putting tape???
  15. It does look like they screw from the outside. I'll try to loosen the bumper and drop it a bit. Do I just loosen then bracket to frame bolts? Thanks
  16. I'm replacing the the two end pieces, those screws seem to be screwed from the bottom, is that correct?
  17. I'm ready to replace the hockey stick mouldings on my 70. It looks like the bumper has to be lowered or removed. So is there a easy way to replace them or a way to lower the bumper enough to get the job done. If the bumper has to come off, how diffacult is it.
  18. Then I hope someone smarter than me will give us some info
  19. Mike, could your stamping be 10B, the first digit 1 = Chevrolet, the second digit 0 indicates the year, the third digit B indicates the factory "Baltimore". Form what I have read the T***CRN stamping comes from the Towanda engine plant, the date code and crn. The vin stamping was stamped at the assembly plant. I hope another member can verify my information.
  20. Did you replace the printed circuit??? Or just the wiring?? It might be the printed curcuit
  21. I don't see that Summit offers a steel inner fender. Do you have a link or part number?
  22. My car came with new shields and I bought new inner fenders but have no staples. Is there a special staple or can I use something from the hardware store..or does someone know where they can be purchased?
  23. I ordered the same kit but not sure where they mount, I beleive the idler and the other on the motor mount but Im not sure. Arron any other pictures?
  24. Leo, I will have a friend who has a body shop check the front end. The drivers fender does look to be to close at the core support. The hinges seem to be in good working order. Thanks for the measurements, Paul
  25. Thanks Aaron, that's helpful. I was going to remove the hood while working on the engine but ended up not. I loosened it and moved forward when I tightened the hinges. I need to adjust it back..from what I read the adjustments are a pain to get correct. Thanks again
