What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?
cny first gen 71 replied to Canuck's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
It's the annual new Years day running of the wrecks a day early because looks like rain then snow tomorrow. Snowblower is all ready for whatever comes and started and car car for a bit and even the lawn mower too as it's so nice out today. I know no pictures didn't happen so here it is. Car wants to go for a ride but way to much salt on roads, everything but snowblower is put back for the rest of its winter rest. Happy new year to all. -
Don't have to take anything down if you don't put it up to begin with.

the engine builder would have been my first call. -
Aren't you going to miss all that when you retire? 😳 I'm sure you and Amy are looking forward to it but yea the urologist is in your future sorry to say. I go back Friday for my follow up from radiation treatment to hopefully find out that it worked. Hopefully start off new year on a good note.

Yes it's sad, he was a good person but he had a good long life. If I was still working I'd be getting a free day off, federal day of mourning but it's way better to be retired.

Get a stethoscope and try to track it down that way, sounds like something is rubbing somewhere.

That answer we can tell our cars just not our woman 🤣 the cars need to hear us talking dirty to them now and then. -

It does require some special tools and skills, I'd suggest if it's something you've never done before to have someone that knows how to do it properly. I did learn how to do them many years ago but I would definitely have it done for me now.

In a perfect world with no rust they are fine but unfortunately 99 percent of us have to deal with rust on the older cars and the newer ones too.
-
Sorry to hear this Rob hope you get better sooner than later. Merry Christmas

Joe is right most people overlook rear end thinking motor needs more. Gear it properly for the type of driving you'll be doing and set up.

cny first gen 71 replied to cny first gen 71's topic in Cars and Parts For Sale/Wanted
I've sold a couple things off market place only bought one and met at a neutral location to complete sale. Yes be very careful. -
A friend of mine has to get rid of his 71 402 auto, he don't really want to but having a cash flow problem. It's partially apart right now, was a running driving car before he started working on it. He's Asking 10 grand for it. I included a couple pictures any more info let me know I can give you his number.

What is it you ended up doing Jim? I'm kinda curious.
-
I'm not sure but I believe this is the one you have to cut and bend out of the way, and after you change the nut fold back over and weld back up. Kinda like this. The northern guys have mentioned this before luckily you have interior out already. I'm sure someone else will chime in onthis too.
