    Sounds the float is just moving up and down some with the sloshing around of the gas. I have seen that on some of the older models of cars.

    Did you test the old sending unit or just replace it? Do you still have it to test or just toss it? I always test the new one before I put it in but it didn't help me as I do have to bend the arm down some as I've learned since then. I will test it with tank empty then half then full all the way to make sure its right this time, after pulling the tank 3 times already.

    I guess it would take away a little bit of the rare factor being that original motor and trans are gone.

    Just remember there isn't a full 12 volts to the sender, I fried one testing one by putting 12 volts to it. I sent it back just saying it didn't work they didn't question it gave me a new one. But Frank is correct 90 ohms when in full position 0 when all the way down (empty)

    What was it doing before you changed sending unit? If there's any change then you could be moving in the right direction. The aftermarket units sometimes need to be bent a little up or down. I'm going through that right now on mine.

    If that is in fact the wire for solenoid that's the wire I used for power for my Pertronix set up instead of switching resister wire from ignition switch, was just easier and Pertronix tech said it would work fine. I removed the solenoid when I switched from 2 barrel to 4 barrel.

    Mine had them when I got it, they didn't last long but mine were screwed in not riveted. I believe they were dealer installed.

    From what I saw on the news last night there is now a burn ban here in NY due to wild fires down state too. May have to wait for the spring burn ban to end now to burn the stuff in my fire pit. Hopefully it doesn't get to serious for anyone involved in either state.

    My best friend and I are on completely different side of the politics but we are still best friends, we are both adults and can disagree and have very spirited discussions but at the end of the day we're best friends. Sorry I just needed to say that.

    There was one in Norwalk that year and tornado warning too Saturday evening but rode that out too. That time in Carlisle was bad too lol I remember making breakfast that Saturday morning for me and Lisa and eating In the tent then decided to get a room. Fun times for sure. That was the last time we tent camped we bought a camper the following month.

    I'll assume you know that the circuit board is grounded? There is another thread with this on it.

    It's the cover for the jack, I think it was only available for the 72 model year but not totally sure about that.
