  1. I had a us body source 2" cowl pin on hood on my 71 that I liked didn't have any problems with it... Also has us body source heavy duty glass fenders but they took me about 8 hours each to hang and get looking right... It sucked lol

  2. I got lucky and got my hood for 50 bucks at a swap meet... keep your eyes open and talk to people smile Guy I bought mine off of was selling a Monte at the meet and had the hood at his house. Was awsome!! smile

I was thinking it was the pump and rossler pretty much confirmed it yesterday.... so now I get to take it all back apart and fix it... frown He said it prolly failed so quick because I didnt shim the converter between the flex plate... I have never done that so I didnt know it was the important... Live and learn.

  4. Yesterday my 4L80 started shifting real lazy.... dont know what happened... Fluid is fine and it doesnt slip while its in gear or on acceleration... when I shift it, its lazy going between gears.. the more RPMs the engine is turning the longer it takes to shift. It use to shift right after I moved the lever not hard but right after... wasnt any delay, now there is. When I engaged the converter the use to kind of jump but now it doesnt... and even the downshifts use to be kind of hard but now I cant even feel it downshift.... You guys have any ideas? Im gonna call the trans shop tomorrow just figured I see if you guys had any ideas... I checked the wires going to it and everything is fine...

  5. What you wanna know about the install? All I did was move the cross member as far back as I could and made new holes... I had to make a little room for it but its doing good. Did you have problems with anything? Im glad I got a converter with lock up, makes a HUGE difference when you have over a 3k stall... PM me anytime smile

  6. Yes I did go with the manual valve body with my 4L80 and thats a good point smile Its not as heavy as most people think though... Its only slightly heavier than a TH400. What weighs a TON is the stock converter, it weighs about 75 pounds... plus side of 75 pounds I shipped one cant remember exactly what it was... I got a 99-newer 4L80 so I didnt have to spend a lot of money on upgrading it... Already came with 34 sprag and hardened shafts.... wasnt that bad. Honestly all together I have about $700 dollars in a brand new 4L80 and paid $200 for the converter which is a 9 1/2" yank 3000+ converter with lock up. Granted I got very lucky with all my 4L80 stuff but that was one reason I went with it.

  7. Not bashing the 700R4 at all.... it takes A LOT of money to make one hold up to power and there can be issues with the TV cable. I went with the 4L80 because it was cheaper, no TV cable, I got a great deal on a converter and I know it will hold up to almost anything I put to it.

  8. I just put a pair of Hooker Aero Chambers on the Monte... 3 1/2" 2' of pipe off both ends... sounds really good!! Nice deep tone. Cheap too for a real muffler and 3 1/2" Ill get a sound clip up when I get around to taken pics of the supercharger and all that...

  9. I know a guy that will do it for $150 and I know it will be done right... so its not real bad but Id rather do that... as long as this converter doesnt stall real high... Only time will tell.... I gotta get the car back on the road and see what the converters like... I would have to do that anyway to get an estimate of what it stalls at to sell it... Im curious as hell but dont have the money right now to go buy the yoke and everything else to get it driveable... So I gotta wait... sucks but I have to for now.

  10. You dont need to strengthen the motor any more for a turbo than for a supercharger... its all boost.... what else can you do to your bottom half that you didnt do? I have forged crank, forged H-beam rods with the good ARP bolts, forged pistons and main studs.....

    What do you have in your bottom end?

  11. I know that... I already have the converter because of the deal I got and I will most likely be using it unless its stalling at like 4k... just simply because right now I dont have the crazy amount of money it would cost to buy a converter.... I just wanted to make sure Im not gonna fry my tranny by sticking with the 3.31's for now....

  12. Dont mess with the super chargers... you can do a turbo a lot cheaper and upgrade the turbo as you go if you want.... and you can buy parts a little at a time so it doesnt hit you as bad.. basically the way I have built my entire car.. smile
