This '70 Monte SS found me, I wasn't looking lol. My NCRS buddy went to look at a '65 C2 396 that was part of a large private collection which the owner sadly passed. The Monte was sitting in his showroom which immediately triggered memories of my Jr High teachers new 71. I have always loved Chevys since my Mom came home with her new 1969 Camaro RS Hugger Orange Convt. I finally was able to buy a '67 RS/SS Convt. in the late 80's which I have yet to finish restoration. I knew the Monte was rare being an SS454 so I made an offer and trailered it home. Previous owner had purchased it from the original owner in Scottsdale AZ. The car was bought new at Madisons Chev Scottsdale, which was bought by Ray Korte Chev . The Monte had a lot of restoration done but the interior was completely gutted. It's taken some time to get it back together but I'm happy with the results. Legendary Interiors rock. The LS5 was bored and stroked, forged pistons, 850 QJet, high output ignition, it's a beast. Sadly the air tank is gone, maybe another future project. All my cars and trucks are drivers and this one is no exception, not perfect, just to enjoy. I restored my '63 Impala SS twenty five years ago. It's a 327 4spd. factory air AM/FM car. We use to have a great National Late Great club which I atttended many regional and one International meet. I also have a '70 Olds 442 and a '72 Vista. 58 Cameo. 72 Cheyenne, '85 Silverado Square Shorty. I love them all but the garages are full. Thanks for this great group, enjoy the information, knowledge, and light hearted posts.Cheers
