  1. Sorry I hadn't signed on in awhile but MCbeast, I based my build on that magazine build called "The Perfect match..." I have those magazines still expect 1 copy of May or June, but since that article showed where they trimmed, I did the same but once installed it would've been fine without the trimming. At the moment I'm waiting for my holley 302-1 since I'm currently running 2 inch BMR springs in the front and that pan sits 1 1/4 inch of the ground, now I'm installing new 1 inch drop BMR springs and Holley pan for piece of mind and clearance gains. I also don't have any clearance issues with headers and steering parts there's plenty of safe room with the headers I used.

MY70 I feel you on the saving a buck, because that way you can put that extra cash towards more parts lol.

  2. A little updated on my build. I ordered a efi tank from TANKS Inc. Plus their fuel line and fittings kit. I choose to go with the walbro 400 pump for my build. I also got some fbody 98-02 ls1 1 3/4 stainless steel race headers from Speed Engineering. Alot cheaper then buying Abody specific ls swap headers. I installed the headers and the only problem I ran into was needing to cut off a tab/ear off the 4l80e passenger side. If I would've used a 4l60e I'm sure that wouldn't of been a problem. I had no other clearance issue with using fbody headers on the monte.

  3. Check out Hooker ls swap mounts part # 12611HKR and Energy Suspension Motor Mounts part # 31117R. As for headers I think f body headers have good clearance and are cheaper than ls swap headers if on a budget and buying used. What kinda transmission are you planning on running there's different options depending on what you're using.

  4. The car currently looks like this and I plan on staying with a sleeper look. I plan on running a dual exhaust thru some magnaflows/borlas to keep it quiet. And for wheels I'ma just put 15x4 rally wheels in the front. Car is nicknamed "Bad Grandpa"

  5. It's suppose to be rated at 556hp @ the crank as is, but I'm hoping with headers, tuning, and pulley swap should get over 600hp at the crank plus the 100 shot of juice. I've seen stock lsa ctsv dyno just over 500 rwhp with nothing but a tune. Goal for me is to run 7.00 index 1/8th

I haven't done anything to the Monte in a while but the weather is starting to get cooler in Texas and I went ahead and ordered the connect and cruise wiring harness for the LSA and going to install it this weekend.

Since I last posted I've installed LSSIMPLE lsa accessory brackets that allows me to run ls based truck accessories. I also got a great deal on ebay for a used g force crossmember that fits perfect.

  7. I really appreciate the input guys, thanks. I'll be getting a tanks Inc fuel tank then. I'm looking into the Aeromotive a1000 fuel pump since I plan on making over 600 rwhp. Anyone have experience with this pump?

Today I tired cutting the mount off and flipping it but it just wasn't working. I then cut the crossmember into 3 pieces to extended it but ran out of wire on the welder so that was a fail. I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the g force crossmember :/

  8. Hello members, I'm posting in this part of the section with hopes to get advice and help with my swap. I'm installing a CTSV/ZL1 6.2 supercharged ls motor with a 4l80e automatic transmission. I have installed the motor and transmission but still working on fabricating a crossmember or maybe buying one. What have you guys done as far as fuel tank or fuel setups for your ls swap. What about gauges? For the 4l80e folks what size driveshaft did you use or get?post-1205-0-76385700-1436496351_thumb.jpg

  9. Thanks big. I'm diggin that grille. Did you buy it or make it?

Also a little update on the project. I installed a junkyard 4l80e with new seals, filter, gasket and shift kit. Oh and the correct flywheel for the LSA to 4l80e swap. Now I gotta find out if I can reuse my stock crossmember.

  10. It's been a while since I posted but I changed directions on my choice for engine. I'll be swapping in a supercharged LSA 6.2 CTS-V engine into my Monte Carlo. Ill be copying SuperChevys Connect and Cruise LSA chevelle build. In the next couple of days I'll be posting pics of the engine assembled and installed on the Monte.
