I put ATF DEXRON III MERCON. The back of the bottle says GM approved DEXRON III and Ford approved MERCON. I changed my tranny filter and gasket because everything looked wet underneath the car. I cleaned everything up but my main seal is seeping. It's not leaving a mark on the ground but it's annoying. I'll get to it one day.

Hey Tom, just looked at my owners manual and you were right. Page 58, "it is not necessary to remove the pan because a drain plug is provided". I went by what the Haynes and Chilton manual said (no plug). I would have never thought of looking at the owners manual. I recently changed my tranny oil and noticed the plug. That's why I was curious. I would still recommend dropping the pan beacause the plug doesn't allow all of the fluid to come out and you don't know what's sitting on the bottom. It sure makes it a heck of alot easier to drop the pan though. Thanks.

Stangeba, did it come like that or did you do it to your car?

I know our trannys aren't supposed to have drain plugs. My '70 does. I know some guys that have them. I was told that there was a "punch out" where you can add a bolt for drainage. Does anybody have any info on this subject?

The only markings I see (reading from the passenger side lower corner inside looking out)are "saftey plate" with lof in a box in between the word "safety" and "plate". Just below that is "as-1" under the word "safety" and "uv7" under the word "plate". Then under that centered is "laminated" and under that is "antenna" and under that is "dot 15 m20". I don't see any other markings and I don't know if my windshield is original. My car was built Sept. 1969. Hope this helps.

Tom, I asked some questions in "ss" section under exhaust system. Also, what is [lof]. I have a 70 and want to see if I can help out.

No problem.

The wipers stop at the "tabs" that are on the lower chrome peice of the windshield. It justs look like the lower chrome peice was bent upward at 2 spots for the wipers to rest.

It's 300 hp. That'll get you started on the decal for the air cleaner. I can't help you on any more decals because my eng. comp. was painted and the decals were either removed or painted over. I hope someone has some info 'cause I would like to know also.
