The panels sold by most folks don't even come close...I tried them. Get with Leo...you will not be disappointed.

Does the '55 have factory buckets and tri-power carburetion?

No...LOL.....but it does have questionable bodywork and loads of glitz under 'da hood. But you got to step over all the trophies to see it.

Well Mike....LOL...there is a story behind those. It would take a bench racing/beer tasting session to explain. He probably did win most of those with that car since it was redone.
He also has a 55 Chevy that may have donated a few of those.
The car is not really that bad...he threw all kinda money at it....but some of the work is not the highest quality that he paid to have done.
The owner....on the other hand is a real piece of work.

I hate to bring this back up but yesterday at the local fall festival / car show he comes rolling in with "Mr.Bogus"....just so happens there was a gentleman there with a 70 that he bought new (really nice car) that noticed him putting out all his trophies and signage denoting it as 72 SS 454. The gent turned to me and says....."who is this clown trying to fool"....I just cracked up. Great weather, great cars, great friends...just a fun day.
Oh yeah....we didn't win but Mr. Bogus didn't either...LOL !!

I just seen the car again tonite at a cruise -in. He had the VIN covered where you couldn't see it....LOL. It's white with a tan top and he told me that there were only 12 72's made with a tan top.....I had to call BS on that as I seen a heck of lot more than 12 with tan tops.
He priced it to a guy tonite for....get this....35,000 dollars!
I about spit coke all over the place. This just gets better and better...

He swears its all original which I know is BS. It's not a Custom..I looked it over first time I seen it and it dosen't have the Custom parts. Next time I see it I'll check the VIN.
I knew it was bogus when I seen it, I just wanted to make sure I had my facts straight.
Thanks for reaffirming my sanity.

I know....I know... but we got this clown that comes to the local car shows SWEARS his 72 is an SS 454 and passes it off as such. I haven't called him on it as he is a loudmouth know it all and I'm not one to start a war at a car show. He claims that only 271 were built in 72. I haven't checked the VIN yet as I try to stay away from him and his BS, but I suspect it is a smallblock car just like ours. Is there even a remote chance it's possible?
He won't join this site ( I wonder why?) probably because he don't want to know the truth.

Although I never met him, I read many of his answers to questions members posted. His knowledge surpassed many experts and he will be missed. My thoughts go out to his family.

Well guys, the graphite type lube is good....but I use "speedo cable lube" I got wayyy back when I worked for...(don't throw anything at me please!)...Chrysler dealerships. Its a factory type grease that works really well. Maybe Gm has the same stuff.

I got the Stage 2 in mine..nothin like barking the tires when it nails 2nd!!

Edelbrock sells an extenstion for your kickdown cable part#8012. Not very expensive (under 10 bucks).

Jared is right on...I first saw Mike's Monte at the 2013 Muscle Car Nats earlier this year...and it totally knocked my socks off! The more you look at it..the more you see the fine detail it has.
Platinum class...no questions there. You have to see it to believe it. Words cannot express the caliber of this car.
