WHITE KNIGHT 71

I went ahead and powder coated mine silver. I noticed after I unbolted it, where the washers were covering, it was silver. So I believe all cars had silver ones.

Is the bottom grill support (long piece that the 3 bottom grill bolts are fastened to) the color of car or black like engine compartment? Please help.

Got most of my M and H wiring harness delivered. Looks real good. I haven't installed it yet but what I've seen it is exactly a match to original specs except I had them wire in for a HEI distributer for an extra 14.00. So I sure you could get them to modify these harnesses more than this. I got the entire harness for alittle over 1200.00. including the fiber optic ashtry light and the extra under dash courtesy lights. I will post again when I install, but for now M and H was worth the money, especially if your not an electronics genius.

I did a search here and found an old topic on these moldings. What I found out is that Year One has them under part number RF788 as (standard side-glass sealing weatherstrips for 70-72 monte carlos with wide moulding at top of door,complete kit) 87.00 It is terrible I have to buy the complete kit since I have already bought the assembled door panels with felt installed. Also I have that other kit with the"special" moldings. O well, I guess I can sell it to someone else.

This trim that I bought was a special order option. I do not know the code for it on the build sheet but not many Monte's had this wide stainless molding that the outside window fuzzie attaches to. Maybe it was only on SS models or the 72 Customs. I have only seen a few Monte's with this window trim. I know somebody in this club has got the full story on this trim option. Hopefully someone will chime in.

Can anyone tell me who sells the felt for the wide door reveal stainless (4 pieces)? Is this just something you get at the local interior shop? Or does OPGI, The parts place, Year One, Harmons, offer this? I have already bought what was listed as "71 Monte felt kit with special moldings" made by repops. Basically it has a thin flat bead of stainless rather than a round one. I found and bought the optional large stainless door reveals on ebay and also bought new assembled door panels with the felt already installed. So this is my dilemma, to replace my outside felt on these wide special moldings. Please me. Thanks

Thanks Mike, that makes a lot of sense. I seen the holes on the end that were covered by the rubber clamps so I should be able to use the same crossmember. I was just trying to put it back original since it's going to be a garage queen. I also thought that those rubber ends must make a great sound insulator for the transmission and the frame. I didn't even consider that it is probably a good moisture retainer. I'm going to definitly reconsider, especially since it is hard to find replacement bushings.

I'm wanting to get new wiring for a frame-off 71, anybody have any feelings good or bad on the number of companies offering such harnesses? Naturally I'm looking for the most painless (no pun intended) set-up. Cost is not a factor, but it is for quality. Please help!!!

Where do I find the rubber envelope type bushings that attach the crossmember to the frame? I need some new one's to go on my frame-off 71. Also what is the proper term for these parts? Please help!!!!
