Thanks Tony, I figured clear wouldn't change it except in direct light. I am curious though the photo of dbrees' looks like what the car used to be painted. However, Canuck's is a 71 I am guessing his looks more goldish because it is indoors and there is florescent lighting? The best color match I can say is Bill's 71 listed under Member's Monte's.

Okay,my wife has approved the full restoration of the Monte Carlo. I will be getting the work done end of January Beg of February.
I have done a bit of research and I will be painting the Monte back to the original Lime Green paint Code 43 and the dark green vinyl top.
I know nothing about paint and want to semi sound like what I am talking about with the shop. Will a clear coat change the color at all?

Canuck you are right its the plastic pieces in the corners I thought they were metal. I already have the sheet metal for the exterior of the car. Thanks for the info I will start the hunt.

Where can I find the interior rear windshield trim?
My window leaked and caused the corner pieces to rust.

I have all the original belts and if I cannot find some new ones i will stay with what I have. I have the deluxe stainless and matching interior color. My Monte had all the options of 71 except power seats.
Tony-
Thanks but only if you have time.

I am doing a complete frame off restoration. I will only drive the Monte once or twice a week if that. i have the original license place frames from the dealer that closed down in mint condition.
This is why I want to find the same color etc. Thanks GM for making my color so hard to find.

I am looking for a complete set of seat belts. I have the stainless GM buckles. The originals are not that bad, but I have a complete new interior minus floor mats and seat belts at this time. I have contacted a couple companies one of which sell the "new style" seat belt some of you have. I still want to keep the shoulder belt up where it is and the lap belt where it is.
Any help would be great and/or can I re-dye them?

I have looked forever in the old posts to try and find tech info about converting from rear drum breaks. Can anyone assist. Apologies for asking a question I know has been answered that i cannot find.

As long as everything if finished with my car I should be there. Interior items are being shipped as we speak, and paint and body Jan-Feb 2010.
I am requesting the days off from work now. Come on Lieutenant give me approval . I think eight (8) months notice is sufficient.

It would look better with a Chicago Blackhawks Flag!
