So an update: everything is back in, the vibration is gone, gas gauge is working again, I’m a happy boy. Now if it would stop raining I could go for a drive.

Hey guys, I’m just looking for some input, I have a 1972 Monte, modified, running a 555 ci big block, a th400 manual shift transmission, I’m having problems I think with the driveshaft, it is the original one. I changed the transmission yoke to a strange yoke that fit the th400, (and having said all that the car hasn’t run since 1993 when I took it completely apart and that driveshaft has moved 3 times to different houses) I have a massive shake at around 60 miles an hour when I accelerate hard, definitely in the drivetrain. Any ideas? And to install the current driveshaft I have to load the rear suspension in order to get it in.
And happy Canada Day!!!!🇨🇦

I feel your pain , I don’t know how many times in my life that I’ve been there, now 66 and still have the same problem just not with my monte

Awesome, I put full pipes to the back, cannot hear much from the car but apparently they are pretty loud. The joys of big blocks

The only track time it will see is when I go for lapping days at one of the road tracks up here, my 27 old son doesn’t believe that it will beat his modified RX8 on a road track, he’s under the impression that it is only good for a straight line. He’s so wrong 😂

But I do understand that, I have already modified mine so much that I’m past the point where I worry about it

Ahh, all you need is a new burled woodgrain inset, no one would ever know

Very cool, if grandad needs a wiring diagram let me know and I’ll take a picture of it tomorrow and send it your way

Yea, I know them all, 25 or 6 to 4 is one of my favourites, Kath was amazing. I saw them live in 69 and again I 2017, still amazing

Finished tidying up the engine bay today, i got rid of all my painters tape and colored electrical tape marking from the disassembly lol. I installed the water temp and oil pressure pods under the dash and used some of that flexible wire loom (black) to tidy and hide the additional wires i added in the harness under the hood. I also ran and extra wire through the firewall for future possible adds, to be used as a pull string so to speak. Also ran a pair of wires for roll control (which I plan on installing somewhere mid or post break in). Hope to get the exhaust finished this weekend (rain is playing havoc with my garage work) and trying to get on a buddies schedule to help put the hood back on. Two of us removed it but figured having 3 for the reinstall would be prudent lol. And I can actually say the shelves in my living room are starting to look a lot less like a parts room.
Here’s how to put a hood on all by yourself
