Just want to say to all our members in Canada and the upper states, hope You and your Families are safe with these fires. I know the air down here is thick and has a yellow/orange haze. Heard there was about 900million acres burning, I can't fathom that, as homes and people must have gotten hurt, though i haven't heard on that. So everyone please be safe and stay inside if you can!

    God Bless

The air today once again is horrible. Hope everyone stays healthy. Hope they get control over the wild fire's

I just finished my car after a 6 1/2 yr. build.  I've owned the car since 1998.  I made first restoration attempt in 1998/99.  Moved it around in pieces until I started over in the fall 2016. I drove it to the Syracuse Nationals from Queensbury, NY.  Its the furthest trip I've taken it and couldn't be happier with how everything went.  Although my plans were to have come earlier and stay until Sunday, the weather held out to still make for a great trip.

I came across a group of beautiful 70 - 72 Montes and saw the club banner.  It didn't take long for me to join.  I parked with the club on Saturday and although I walked around most of the day, I had a great time talking Montes with a bunch of the other Monte owners / enthusiast.  I'm humbled by all the incredible compliments, especially coming from other Monte owners.

I'm already working on plans for the 2024 Eastern Meet and hopefully can get out to Lebanon Valley for another meet up.  Looking forward to seeing more incredible Montes and meeting more member in the future.  Now I need a trailer!

Stopped by after many years to see how things are going here. I see a lot of new names, but quite a few old ones as well. Glad to see the first gen Monte crowd is still together.

For those who can't quite remember who I am, maybe this will help:

    Hello,

I got my monte a little over a year ago and started registering then and neglected to finish the process, so, I'm trying to do that now (paying dues and getting signed up).  My first car in high school was an ugly poop brown '77...a couple years later I got a '80 (a little less ugly).  My buddy had a first generation and I always liked his so much better than mine, so... 40 years later I got my '70.

I was told it spent 30 years in a barn.

Hey this is Rich. I had been wanting to get another 70 Monte after selling my 1st 70 Monte 30 years ago. Luck would have it I got my second one and It's going to get modified. No reaI factory options were picked but it has very little rust. I am looking for any help on parts selection of aftermarket handling package experience. My goal is to keep it looking stock but handle and run like a modern car. Hope to have some good expereinces here. Thanks

This morning on the Motor Trend channel at 10AM EST, it lists a Monte SS. Can't find what year it is going to feature, and they can be a little annoying, but worth a look, maybe. It will replay again next Sunday 7/9/23 at 0900 EST.

Here is the description of the show:

    Monte Chassis

Two Guys Garage: Season 22, Episode 7

    Description

A Monte Carlo SS is literally rolled into the shop, with an incomplete rolling chassis and a body that needs work. The guys focus on the underside first, so they mock up the engine and transmission, along with new EFI, and complete the suspension.

    Thanks for the info

Here is some pics of my new Monte Carlo. Very solid car, accept the cowling was never put in right from the factory. There is a piece missing on driver side. I really like this car. so my solution is to use Hereculiner on the floor boards with no carpet. Just don't drive it in the rain and be careful when I wash it. If any water gets in just dry it up.

Congratulations, lucky I still have my mom but it was my parents that tought me how to invest and that's partly responsible for me being able to get my Monte when I did.

Nice.....I'm glad you still have your mom. I was 49 when I lost mine 3 years ago.
