I understand that there are two holes on the brake pedal shaft. The master cylinder rod will have a different mechanical advantage depending on which hole is used. The lower hole is for power brakes and the upper hole is for manual brakes. In using a master cylinder with a 1 inch bore the pedal will be softer than using a 1 1/8 inch bore. Is it posible to harden up the brake pedal by placing the master cylinder rod at a different locationon the shaft? Thanks, Ed

Thanks Dennis. Such a complete answer is always appreciated. My Monte is black but your blue is beautiful. ejw71

Firm I purchased a rear disc brake setup for my 71 Monte said a 1 1/8 inch master cylinder is needed. Inline company, ebay seller, told me this upon receiving the goods and after saying his listing included all needed to convert to rear disc brakes. What difference, if any, would there be using a 1 inch bore master cylinder with disc/disc versus 1 1/8? Thanks, ejw71
