  1. These are what my old man likes...would you mind to post a pic of your car? I'd really like to see how they look on a Monte.
  2. I am once again shopping wheels for the Monte. I'd really like to find something other than ralley this time around. Was hoping for some inspiration from anyone that could post a photo of what they are running. Thanks very much!
  3. Hey folks. Was wondering what original sticker goes in this indentation in the door jamb...was it the blue GM sticker? I'm also curious about the trunk...if anyone is so inclined. Thanks in advance!
  4. I had a couple rust bubbles showing under the vinyl top...it has now progressed to a full blown paint job. I do have another trim question for ya...the two different types of clips that holds the lower trim on- I'm not sure how to get them out yet...will they be reusable?
  5. That's what I was thinking...or possibly just delete it. I do like it better without.
  6. I'll soon be looking for the clips that hold on the rear trim if anyone knows where to find them...
  7. Thanks for the tip! I would have never guessed that.
  8. End cap meaning the large painted piece that the trim is attached to?
  9. Hey folks. I am down to the last two pieces of trim removal in prep for body work. I wasn't able to find any info on how to remove these two. If anyone can shed light on this I'd really appreciate it.
  10. I ordered the below to cut into the openings... I'll post a pic IF it works. Thanks guys. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/SFT-5180
  11. Has anyone come across hood insulation that fits into the 9 openings under the hood? Seems that no one makes it but it sure would be nice. Just thought I'd ask before attempting it on my own...
  12. Thanks for the responses. I am using a Sniper and have a 575hp 496. This pump should work perfectly according to Holley. The car came with a brand new OEM tank so I'm sticking with it. So apparently you can't have too much venting...I think I'll run all three vents either through the original separator or more likely to three small breather vents mounted as high as possible. And then switch my gas cap to a vented cap as well. I dropped the tank today and plan to run all new fuel lines from tank to Sniper.
  13. Hey folks...I am replacing my broken sending unit with a Holley OEM-style EFI fuel pump/sender unit. I'm unsure as to whether I need to retain the 3 vents running to the separator. Maybe this is a question for Holley but thought I'd check here first. Thanks for any advice! here is the pump... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-12-373
  14. I am contemplating what to do with my trunk. I could use some inspiration if anyone feels like posting a pic of theirs. I have a clean slate ready for... something. Thanks in advance!
  15. I did actually paint around the outlet...and it just looks awful because the surface is so rough. I might need to make a surround of some sort and slip it behind the wood. I'm surprised that something isn't missing in between there. The lighter itself doesn't hide it at all. Anyhow, thanks once again for the replies.
  16. ... surrounding the cigarette lighter. I seem to be missing something and it bugs the heck outta me. Here's what I have...
  17. How do you like the 3:31 gear? I can't stand the 4:11 much longer. It would be great if it were a 6 speed!
  18. Hey folks. I am wondering if any of you know your torque converters. If so, I could really use some help choosing one while my engine is at the machine shop. My '72 Monte was 454 swapped at some point and I bought it with that 454 in complete stock form. So I'm sure the converter is incorrect for what's coming. Here are the important things to know: 496 BBC (approximately 575hp) Cam 3000-6200rpm (cam specs attached) TH400 4:11 rear gears (would like to change to 3:73 soon) GearVendors Cruise RPM - 2800 Tire size 275/45/18 Car weight 4000lbs
  19. Hey folks. I have a '72 with a swapped 454 that has now been pulled and added TrickFlow heads and needed tall valve covers. I am fairly certain the stock brake booster will be a problem when I reinstall this engine. I am wondering if anyone can confirm it will be a problem and also if anyone knows of a booster swap that would make space. I love making space anyhow, so rather than cutting the valve cover I'd rather invest the money into a shiny new smaller booster. Let me know if anyone has any insight. Thanks so much. JP
  20. So I got the Wagon delivered yesterday. Today I threw on the 275's from the Monte to see how they fit. There is plenty of room to spare so I think 295's are in my future. Needs to be lowered an inch or so. Here is a before and after pic...
